Wisconsin has ZERO snow on the ground. Haven't for about a month. Usually we would have a few feet of it by now. We have had 4 inches, max, all winter so far. Thursday we might get 2-4 more. Temp has been mid 30's to low 40's for a few weeks. (daytime) Very strange. The worst part of it is, we aren't getting the water we need and we're already really low.

Snow on the way finally tomorrow and an end to the "snow drought"
We get our first winter storm tomorrow in the Chicago area -
http://blog.chicagoweathercenter.com...rthy-snow.html "But winter is expected to return with a vengeance Wednesday night as Arctic air powers into the area. On Thursday, the cold air will be accompanied by strong northwest winds, bitter wind chill temperatures and, potentially, several of snow. Though not especially horrible by January standards, it will be an abrupt reality check." |

Well folks it is a right balmy -30C today. With wind gusts, oh yes we have wind gusts, it is a wonderful -44C. The sun is shining its cruel false heat upon us. Our nostrils freeze together within a minute, or two if you are lucky, after being exposed to such outrageously gorgeous weather. If left long enough icicles will form on eyelashes. It is such a beautiful sight, one surely not to be missed whilst travelling in the Great White North.
It is one of the most rare days when even after warming the car and driving for a length of time, the cold air in the car simply refuses to be replaced by anything warmer. This is one of those days when I am greatful I do NOT live in the Northern Realms. No wonder the Inuit wore the cariboo fur on the INSIDE.

Chicago area - gusty rain and almost snow
First of week's two arctic blasts to produce snowy Tuesday afternoon, tumbling temperatures; 1-2 inch accumulations possible
January 16, 2012 10:43 PM by Meteorologist Tom Skilling Tuesday's comparatively mild open gives way to powerful northwest winds which will send Chicago area temperatures plunging into the 20s by nightfall, the first of two cold blasts predicted this week. The second and strongest of the week's cold surges takes hold Thursday, when daytime temperatures are to hold in the teens for the first time this winter. Tuesday's wind-driven temperature pullback supplants Monday's brief, snow-melting temperature surge to 45-degrees--the area's mildest reading in 5 days. Monday's "warm-up" took a big bite out of the area's heaviest winter snowpack to date, reducing the depth of the snow on the ground from 6 inches last Thursday to just an inch Monday morning. The melt-off continued Monday as rain fell across the city and by evening less than an inch of snow remained. |

In Mobile AL it is 70 degrees with a dreary day in my future. The most interesting thing is the forecast for next Monday, it will be 81 with a heat index of 91. Where is Winter? I just want to know.

Apparently the US postal service sent it to wrong address AGAIN. Would you like it express delivery or just regular??
