It's 58 out and raining here too. I love it, it's like Seattle weather out there, which brings back lots of good memories.

Starting to cool off on the lake. Tree colors are changing and I’m seeing less of the ducks, turkeys, and deer, but the squirrels and woodpeckers are out and about collecting nuts and making holes.
It’s very pretty right now in my neck of the woods, but I’m looking forward to the first full snowfall where the snow sticks to the bare tree branches. It will be here soon enough. Today’s high will be 65 F near the lake. |

Adirondack "Mountains"
We are having strange weather as is the rest of the US. Two weeks ago it was chilly enough for a wool jacket. Then it warmed up. We're fortunate to be big procrastinators, and didn't take the A/C out of the window. We'd have been miserable 'cause it got toasty. They keep predicting rain showers, but none have materialized. We had peak Fall foliage last weekend, but the colors are subdued this year. A good rainy weekend brings out the POP in Fall colors here in Northern NYS and Northern Vermont.

It’s sweater weather on the lake. We’ll be lucky if it gets as high as 60F today. It’s raining off and on and warmer than usual but no complaints from me, yet.
It’s currently 51F. |

Had a nice thunder storm last night. Right now it’s wet, cloudy and a little windy. 52F.
The birds are out and about, and all over the place like Hitchcock. Right now I see three are on a garage, two on a rooftop and a few keep playing tag on my deck. I don’t know if it’s a territory war, creating/protecting a nest, or something else. They’ve been like this for a couple days. |

68, sunny but not bright owing to some slight clouding. I can't remember what type of clouds, I used to know them all, the main ones anyhow. Well it's nice out calm and still, even though yesterday winds were fierce. No need to run air conditioners, heaters this time of year which means lower power bills until winter sets in, something to smile about.

Sunny day here too. It got partly cloudy as the afternoon came. It's now 39 degrees F. It is dark at 06 and 1800 (or 07 and 1900) and we are anticipating a hard freeze one night soon. There are friends of mine who remember Trick or Treating in foot deep snow. Its difficult for me to imagine.

It's a cozy 43 F here right now with our second day of rain and a full day of super high winds tearing leaves off the trees and throwing things around.

Weather forecasters (local and Weather Channel) tell us that we're having a Nor'easter without snow. It is raining cats and dogs, though. I am not fond of rain.
Kinda cool, but bring on the snow and colder temperatures. |

Nor'easter came through last night and this morning. I was not one of the 236,000 Rhode Islanders without power, thankfully, but I was one of the hundreds with trees down. My work property had two huge trees come down, one of which landed on a building and is balancing on a giant propane tank.
Joy. MA registered the highest wind gusts nearby, at 88 and 94 mph. We were only in the upper 60s and lower 70s. |

Rain and flooding here but.....
Thursday morning, winter alerts were up for 2 million people across the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest, which included the first blizzard warnings of the season. The blizzard warnings, in particular, were for parts of northeastern South Dakota and extreme western Minnesota. While this region is part of "blizzard alley," it's early for the season's first blizzard. November blizzard warnings are actually quite rare. The last time one was issued for this part of South Dakota was five years ago in November of 2016. Before that? 2008. Wind alerts are also up for 11 million people, where winds could gust as high as 50mph through Thursday night. By the second half of the day on Thursday, rain was forecast to change over to snow across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest, where as much as 8 inches of snow could fall across extreme northern parts of North Dakota and Minnesota. |

We're having fierce winds today. Good advance warning though so plenty of time to brace for it for those who hadn't already. We had a power outage here yesterday for about an hour, so for me it just meant don't put away everything I hauled out yesterday to deal with that, set up for worst case scenario. J decided to brave it and brought over meds she'd picked up for me. The car was really rocking but she said it was actually better out on the road than it was parked. Well they're home safe and sound now, Monte is napping. Last night I didn't even need to use the heater. It's5PM, 63 degrees out and haven't had to turn it on yet. It's supposed to dip down into the high 40s tonight.
