Today I walked for a half hour again (interspersed with doing things like hanging out in a book store, but I only counted the walking time as actual walking time). It's kind of funny that I've been walking to the gym and then not going in. It's actually rather relaxing.

Today I did 35 minutes on the stairmaster. I did no real pattern but went anywhere between 7 and 1 for levels. I survived.

Today I did 40 minutes on the stairmaster. I had not slept well the night before so it was a real challenge, and it felt great to succeed. My pattern was:

Levels 7 down to 1, 7 sets, 30 seconds each level

Then Level 1 for the rest of the duration

My ipad has been having problems for the past year or so (it's very old), so now all I can watch is youtube, but luckily- youtube has a lot to watch! I flipped around today. I watched one that I always find a trip that I can't link to because I don't know how but if you go to youtube and put in "crazy customer subway" it comes right up.

Today I did 40 minutes on the stairmaster. My pattern was:

Levels 7 down to 1, 7 sets, 30 seconds each level except for level 1 which was always for 1 minute, then level 1s after I finished my 7 sets. It was glorious.

I talked to Taylor in the locker room but she was running to a hot yoga class so it was a pretty quick convo. She got fully naked while speaking to me in a way that I saw her whole body right in front of me. It's interesting, as she definitely used to hide her body from me. Maybe it means were closer friends now but I don't know. She looks very young naked because of how tiny she is. I would say that La la's body naked is more shocking in regard to the anorexic factor, not necessarily because La La is smaller, but because La La looks older.

Taylor told me that there was a guy named Brandon who wanted to hook up with her and and she texted that she didn't want to, and he texted back, "Fuck you" and then "I'll teach you a lesson." That was alarming. She wisely did not respond. She said that Brandon's brother is in prison for murder. Wonderful. The boys must have come from a very loving family... When I expressed alarm she said, "Well, he's an alcoholic and was probably just drunk." Then she did her classic Taylor half smile. And off she went to hot yoga, which she does once a week. I was left to think: Where did this Brandon even come from

I walked around a lot today. There was a food truck festival in the park today. And I walked to and from the festival and then around during the festival. It was challenging and a nice workout.

Need Motivation - Wk 9 NYC Marathon Training

So, this has been my last three weeks during my road trip
cross country...back home to my Big Sky and LOW humidity...

to say I must have a massage therapist is an understatement

East coast had HIGH humidity and my running was like melting
with sweat, except for ensuring I kept hydrated, I loved it!

The drive was interesting there, and back...those Southern belles are
fast drivers...dug that.

Anyway, glad to be home and tomorrow back to my favorite high desert
road run...6mi...E-A-S-Y...

Built an extension cord holder. It is a 100 ft outdoor 12 gauge heavy duty cord, very heavy and wears me out to roll it up with my arms and shoulders. Now it is a great deal more manageable. Mowed lawns the rest of the day and actually got every bit of that accomplished ... this is a first in a very long time ... had to hop along the last couple of hours but it is done!!! Makes me so happy!!!!! Snakes do not like short lawns. I dropped the blade on the mower as low as it will go ... it is truly a "bald-headed" yard right now. LOL!!

Exercise: 1 hour and 25 minute walk

Today was really nice weather, cooler than usual in NYC. I was to meet my friend at a tea house but asked if we could switch to a walk given the weather. He told me he was looking forward to the tea house but that we could walk after. I said "perfect!" but really just so I didn't come off as a bossy bitch. I guess it was perfect that we compromised, but drinking tea before walking has it's problems .

We walked from 3:30 to 5:30, but there was some stopping. He asked if we could stop in a sex store so that he could look for a gift for his girlfriend. Yeah, just what I had in mind . He ended up getting her an expensive device that is supposed to simulate going down on her because he doesn't like to do that. I could be wrong because I didn't want to stand with him during the selection process but I believe it cost 200 dollars. Oh, straight cis rich white men, is there no end to your antics! Actually we've been close friends for many, many years so, yes, you be you!

He wanted to walk the Queensborough Bridge but it had already been 2 hours, and he's tall, so he walks REALLY fast, so I was like, maybe let's not today. When we parted ways I walked around a street fair a bit. I love to get the grilled corn on the cob but they had already closed. Why did we have to go to the sex shop .

I ended up with 12K steps on my iphone but stupidly (or not) I had him carry all my stuff, including my iphone (he's nice that way), so my short legs would have gotten tons more steps registered than his long ones- darn it!

Wow, NYC. That was quite a walk! That toy better be AMAZING for that ticket.

Sunday and yesterday for me were 30 mile bike rides, straight through, no stopping. I was hoping for the same tonight but we are looking at storms so... I'll keep an eye on things before planning my ride.

I left work early to try to beat the rain. One minute into my ride the sky opened. It was supposed to be light rain so I knew there was a possibility of that and I can deal. But this was a downpour. A few miles in I couldn't see two feet in front of me. So I turned around. The roads were flooding. Super fun.....

Short ride so I finished off on the rower after I was home and in dry clothes.

I got a little exercise playing porch soccer, throwing the football and attempting to bounce the soccer ball off my knee and then kick it. I did it once.

40 miles on the bike this morning. I wasn't sure how it was going to go because I woke up with a muscle in my left side all in knots and painful. I figured riding would either make it worse or help it relax. It helped it relax a bit. Still sore but I will live.

I stopped once at about 25 miles to take pictures of an old VW bus that had been turned into a massive planter, including a roof rack full of tomato plants. Then I stopped at 30 miles to rest a few- probably a 5 minute rest.

I'd say today was a successful training ride. It's beautiful out today so the path I was on was pretty busy with bikers and joggers and walkers. There was a low level of the people who annoy me most by walking in the middle of the path with headphones on so they can't hear anyone coming who is trying to alert them that they are going to be passing on their left. Bonus points when they also have a dog running around....

I walked to the mailbox and back carrying s heavy package. It's not a super long walk but it was enough to elevate my heart rate while carrying that package. Sometimes I gotta just squeak in a little exercise where I can.

Today and yesterday I took a hour and 15 minute walks (well- I don't know how long they were, but I count every 5K steps on my iphone as half an hour, and I got 12,500 steps each of those days).

Yesterday I walked during lunch time and after work.

Today I walked home from the East side to the west side of NYC through Central Park. That felt cool!

I also stopped at the gym on my walk to pick up my ipad so that I can recharge it at home.

As someone who works during the school year, I miss the summer when there was much more time to linger in the locker rooms! Oh, well, there's always the weekends!
