What's Your Morning Routine?
I'm currently mapping out a new morning routine and started to wonder if others had one.
For those that do I'm interested in knowing what yours looks like and if it's changed since Covid. |

Kind of depends on the day but...
Weekdays I like to get up between 5-6am to have some time to myself before work. I drink coffee, read the news, go out in my yard and watch the sun rise over the river. When I have time and weather is good I go for a good walk on the bike path. However, if I'm behind on being prepared sometimes the morning means fixing my lunch/dinner depending on the estimated length of the work day ahead. Weekends, the only thing that has really changed with COVID is that we used to really enjoy going out for breakfast. We are early risers so we still get up around 6 on the weekends, give or take a few. Now, we usually sit out back with coffee watching the hummingbirds and chipmunks get their breakfast, check out what has grown in the garden overnight, and then I cook us up a good breakfast. |

Weekdays I wake up at 7:00 and ease into my morning by waking up, drinking water, showering, making coffee and breakfast and then work.
Weekends I pretty much wake up at the same time but do things much slower. I may also stay in my pj's longer and shower later after I eat. Nothing much has changed in my routine because of Covid. I still start work at 9AM I just don't get up as early and feel more relaxed starting my day and getting ready for work. |

Wake up and grab the obituary section of the paper! IF I don't see my name, I get up and proceed with the day accordingly... |

Morning routine
I get my coffee ready the night before so. I get up usually around 530 or 6. Go to the kitchen and flip on my coffee pot. Go to the lou and do my duty then wash hands and face, comb hair and go get coffee and probably a pop tart or blueberry muffin. Go back and lie down and watch tv for a bit.

No changes to my morning routine since COVID.
If I'm working that day, I get up with the alarm, make my bed, turn the a/c down (or up, depending if your glass is half full or empty), visit the restroom after saying good morning to the fur babies, get my hair situated, go turn on the computer and feed the babies, check the news online and weather while the babies eat, go weigh myself, drink a big glass of water, go put my face on, get halfway dressed (tops before breakfast, bottoms after....Why, you ask? Because I have a very loving, super sheddy light-colored cat), make and eat breakfast, realize that I only have 15 minutes to finish up and get to work so I turn it up a notch, rinse my dishes, put down some kibble for the babies to eat later (their breakfast is wet stuff-which is why they get bitchy when I sleep in), speed floss and brush my teeth, finish dressing, say goodbye to the babies, grab my gear and mask and run out the door. Okay, the mask grabbing is different. But that's all. |

No changes since COVID. The following is what I'm implementing gradually as a part of serious self-care. So far, so good!
1. Wake up about 7:00 AM with a few minutes of deep breathing and positive thoughts for the day. I used to wake up already dreading the day, and I'm trying to change that. 2. Put on my dud clothes and do about 25 minutes of Body Groove . 3. Shower, fix hair, skin routine, dab on some makeup (maybe) 4. Get dressed. If not going to work, I still get out of my dud clothes. 5. Breakfast and water 6. Either go to work, or start my priorities that day.
