I feel good. The weather's great outside and I've got old CSI episodes playing in the background. My belly's full, I have shelter and clothes on my back and I'm blessed enough to work for a company that offers paid holidays. What could be better?

Like I had the best weekend ever! Included events such as: a night playing with friends in an arcade that was deserted except for us- we totally took it over and had much fun, a motorcycle ride to the county fair where I was volunteered to judge a children's cooking competition, witnessed a Shania Twain impersonator who was really good, I had my honey take my picture with a dude dressed up like Elvis- but he wasn't an Elvis impersonator so he didn't think my photo request was funny-- but we did it anyway (I'm smiling- he is not)- followed by a demolition derby- my first of such things- and it was surprisingly satisfying. Then a late night motorcycle ride home that was chilly but nice. Today was a trip out to the mountains and an accidental stumble on a cool new mom-and-pop restaurant that is a total do again.
Feeling satisfied and happy and like I'm sad the weekend is over!!!!! |

Overwrought..
I came to work today to find a resident I liked a lot had passed in the night...now my other lady just passed. I've been here almost 5 months and it amazes me the people who come out of the woodwork when death is near. Part of me just wants to scream at them. Why weren't you here when she was crying for you every night at bedtime...especially when you live in the same fucking town as the facility. Far as I'm concerned my sympathies go solely to the departed. They were sweet, lovely ladies. I'm better off for having known them.
