Default Trumpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall

As a Democrat, I'm howling with laughter that The Donald leads most GOP polls. He represents the dregs of the GOP, and I think he's doing it on purpose just to eff with what the GOP has turned into.
I heard somewhere that he and Bill Clinton met up a few weeks prior to Trump announcing, and the thought of that made me think they hatched this plan together to embarrass the teabaggers, holy rollers, crooks, shitkickers, home schooled, dentally challenged, queer hating, closet queen, GED getting, ultra Christian radicals, and let's not forget the racists in the GOP.
Trump acting like he had too many favorite Bible verses (both old and new testament) to pick just one? That was worthy of any Monty Python skit. His idea to flatten the entire Middle East? Also Python-esque. And the wall he plans to build to close off the border between the U.S. and Mexico was funny, only to be made even funnier by announcing the Mexicans would pay for it.
With Ted Cruz slithering over the Canadian border to run for the Senate, then president, makes me think we need two walls. The invasions of Justin Bieber, Norm McDonald and Celine Dionne haven't helped.
Word is, the RNC plans to host some kind of fishy extra primaries so they can kick Trump out. I think if the GOP voters want him, they should get to vote for him. Just the idea that there are porn videos available of his first lady would worth watching far right heads explode.
Plus, 2 or 3 of his 5 kids were conceived via extra marital affairs. That's what I call Family Values. If you are into cheaters, that is.

Nothing, really. She's like Taylor Swift-- I wanted to dislike her then I saw her on a talk show and liked her. Then I saw her singing a saccharine sweet song and the needle flipped to the left again. We can leave her out and throw in k.d. lang instead. Great voice but she's lost the flair she had when she first hit the U.S. market.

Jane, I like your critique of the GOP mess. You have a wicked sense of humor. I am concerned that this outpouring of Trump mania is real and that hate, ignorance and fear will seize the day, and Trump will weasel his way into the White House. If that happens our country will be the laughing stock of the planet and the number one aggressor and target for war.

As for the Canadians, for the most part they are good people and a humane bunch. Well, except for Justin Bieber.

I think the above are beyond getting embarrassed. They are a pretty self righteous bunch. I don't think anyone told them that this Trump thing is a joke. I try hard to have faith in humanity and see the better part of who they hard but it is not my first instinct. Trump winning the Republican primaries state by state and I think he will also sweep in Super Tuesday, gives me a great deal of concern. The haters and those who seem to be losing power in the pecking order of things are now crawling out from under their rocks to try and take us back to "the good old days." Maybe good for a select few but not the rest of us.

Finally, I also think the "establishment Republican party" painted themselves into this bizarre corner. They allowed the extreme right some legitimacy by giving them a platform, safe harbor so to speak, in spewing their rhetoric full of racism, and encouraging the party of NO to everything. "The chickens have come home to roost" and the chickens have no regard for anything (including other republicans) except their agenda.

It is going to be interesting to see how Trump either buys into their narrow world view or tries to step on them too when he is coronated, I mean elected.

20 percent of Trump supporters believe Lincoln shouldn't have freed the slaves.

As well, Trump just exclaimed, "I love the poorly educated!" How are there millions of people who vote for someone who so blatantly disdains and mocks them? Then I read things about the forces that propel someone like Trump's popularity. His rise to power does have echoes of facism and parallels the rise of Hitler in fascist Germany; this Chomsky article is good at detailing this.

I really thought he'd go away after some initial flurry of celebrity injected into the race and his megalomaniacal need for attention would be assuaged. It is unbelievable that he might actually get the nomination. On the other hand, I do enjoy watching Rubio and Cruz sputter about in paroxysms of disbelief, rage, and thwarted entitlement.

The whole GOP IS a friggin' reality show. Canadians are like watching it all unfold, as I'm sure many of my American friends are as well.

I do want to see him debate the issues with someone like Clinton. I keep thinking he's going to be like, "Ya stupid fucks; I was just screwing with you! I don't want to be President anyway!" and stomp off.

I just don't know anymore but the right wing fringe of the GOP/Tea Party created this mess and I can't believe they cannot find/promote one viable (or moderate even?) candidate. I can't see Cruz, Rubio, (etc) winning over Clinton, but I can see one of them (especially Trump who will pull independents) winning over Sanders.

Thanks, Greyson.
I am here to calm your worries if I can. Sit down, have some soup.

One of the most regrettable aspects of this era in U.S. politics is the way cash-starved, super competitive 24/7 cable news channels pander to the super freaks who are running and voting in this election.
I recall the first season of The Jerry Springer Show, when I thought this shit could not be happening. I called a whole mess of friends because they shared my love for macabre, unashamed, filterless, trailer trash, batshit crazy people trying to outdo each other on national TV.
Many of his guests looked as if they had never used indoor plumbing, much less ridden on an airplane or stayed in a hotel (or motel).
For a free vacation to exotic Cleveland, including vouchers for McDonald's, I presume, some people would go on stage and screw their dog.
Which brings me to Donald Trump, who I am sure has screwed more than his share of dogs.
The more outrageous he gets, the more that red ratings needle throbs and lurches to the right.
Does he believe all the extremist, frightening Nazi Fascist shit he spews? I think he might or might not. His mercurial nature is apt to do a 180 on any given day or hour. He seems to come alive when he sees cameras, like all egomaniacs and sociopaths. He has an almost psychic sense of knowing when his words have reached a hair's width away from the apex of inappropriate. He knows his FCC limits.

His unprecedented public fight with Fox "news" hostess Megan Kelly was as phony as his wife's prim 'first lady' act. Ratings gold that he'd say Kelly was probably on her period, and she'd pretend to be flabbergasted.
He said he heard a lady in one audience call Ted Cruz a pussy. He prompted her to say it again, louder. Then he acted coy as he kept the pussy thread going, even after he said it and his standing ovation morons sat down. Ooooh-- he said 'pussy' and he's a potential president. The TV audience tolerates it, the ad revenues hit the ceiling, and best of all the GOP debates have all but centered on the candidates tattling on one another like little junior high bitches. We don't know what any of these slimy sons of bitches plan to do as president, but we do know: Rubio sweats like a pig and wears little elevator booties with a kitten heel, Trump applies makeup to stop his upper lip from forming a sweat mustache, Chris Christie can easily bully little Marco by mentioning his --what? Is it a learning disorder when you repeat the same five lines in rapid succession?
As for the failures like Carson and Bush-- the judges hit the gong. Leave the race or we'll call in the ejector chimp.
So much for the GOP's staged debates.
But--what's this?
When Bernie and Hillary noticed all the play the GOP antics were getting the night of the debates and on social media the following day, damned if they didn't ramp it up themselves.
Well, at least one of them did. The other one reacted to her opponent's slanderous accusations like she was Cruella DeVille. You could see her take a deep breath, stand up straighter, clench her jaw, and the thought bubble over her head formed: "When I get elected, I am going to eviscerate this fucking old hootenanny goat..." "I hope he likes the kilo of coke and the kiddy porn discovered in his luggage at the Phoenix airport, that doped out old hippy pinko."

Solution:
License all debates or other prime time televised coverage rights to C-Span only, and either let them do pledge drives during breaks or charge the cable subscribers a small flat fee. No ratings, no (overt)theatrics and a moderator who is a professional debate judge from Yale or Harvard... one who tolerates no bullshit. No Vaudeville, Bernier.

Next:
Enact New Law:
Neither side of the aisle may attempt to overturn an existing law more than once per session. Obamacare got more than 50 stabs--we pay these fuckers to work for us, not pick and choose what laws they dislike and piss away an entire session ignoring their constituency needs. Why the fuck was that allowed? Whomever should have been in charge of legislative misconduct had to be one of the goons involved. Fuck that.

Laws should be carved in stone, not written on an Etch a Sketch. If you are a Congress Rep who wants to change a law, you have to lick it off the stone until it's illegible.

New bi-law: Legislators who overtly or continually break the rules get demerits. Three demerits earns a three week censure. Six demerits earn a $75 severance pay check, loss of all accrued benefits and a shove down the stairs of Congress, performed by that chimp who ripped that lady's face off.

I can actually see Hillary ramming these new laws through Congress quite quickly, because every GOP and Democrat in the chamber will be river dancing not to piss her off and become her first public victim.

Bernie? Not so much. Too many details.

New bi-law, enforced once every two years. Legislators get an online report card grade from constituents. An F from too many constituents = get the F outta here.

If someone doesn't force the GOP to stop acting like drunken toddlers, we will waste another four year term wearing down our jaw muscles and molars from clenching.

Feeling better, Grayson?

Oh, Collette, what a sweet thing to say. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I don't drink beer, which I think is against Canadian law, and mostly I'm not familiar with the concept of winter weather that can kill you if you get stuck somewhere when an ice or snow storm hits.
Snow is nice the first day you see it, then on day 2 it's kind of like being on a movie date with a woman whose halitosis keeps getting stronger.
By day 3 it's time to book a flight outta wherever it is, because excessive cold changes a person, I truly believe.
A woman who can get to work on a day that's -15F below and having what they call "a wintry mix" pelting her car, or her as she walks, has to develop skills and tenacity that are too hard to acquire after age 12.
If I were to move to Canada to marry you, I would never leave the house from early Oct, until late April. You'd have to go out and get whatever provisions we'd need, and from what I gather from your self deprecating posts, you are at least 85 years old. I'd feel guilty sending you out for some trivial item I needed. You could break a hip, then we'd have to hire a baby butch to do all the work.
Also, no offense, but curling is the most boring human activity ever known, and poutine has to have been invented by some highly intoxicated oaf who was stranded in his desolate cabin with only french fries, cheese curd and an old bottle of BBQ sauce in his fridge (along with the requisite 4 cases of beer).
Please forgive me, dear Collette, ey?
