... that the meaning of the word "friend" changes the older I become.
as a youngin: "I have this friend in school that...." (read: There is some other kid I know in school that...)
as an adult: "There is this person I work with..."
Everything is much simpler as a child :)

The more I realize just how self serving most ppl are. That they give you lip service about caring and they don't really care. That lying comes quite easy to a lot of folks. That following your bliss is a line of bull. That doing what you love will bring you success is a line of bull. That everyone is good at something that they are made for and that should bring you the ability to be self sufficient... also bull. I seem to be knee deep in crap but with all that manure, I still can't bloom. I am sufficating. Burning up. :sadangel:

I HATE when that happens.....

The older I get the more I realize that true honest friends that you can count on to always be there are a true rareity.
The older I get the more I realize how much I truely enjoyed high school and how easy and simplified life was then. That all those things my mother told me growing up were spoken truth.
The older I get the more I realize how similar I am to my mom.

Life is a gamble every day. I try my best to be the person my mom has brought me up to be. I've learned many things from life, relationships and even my job. I know that we can't always have the things we want but it's a gamble to go out and try to get them. I allow myself to show people who I really am and well that too is a gamble and doesn't always turn out the way I want it to. Sometimes we just have to say "fuck it" and say somethings are just not worth the gamble.
Someday.. I'll have all the things I've wanted, well that too is a gamble to say! :)

That my taste buds have really changed.
Thing's I enjoyed as a child, taste like they should
be enjoyed by a child, I can't stand them now.
That the local channels on the T V are still the one's

That I still am amazed by the little flower that blooms

That I. Like my Mother. Have a tendency to check the

that people never react the way you think they will. You get up each day hoping that today will be the day you do something that will leave your mark..I know how blessed I am in my life..I know that I am a good person and I have alot of love in my life. But there are times I forget to love the one person who means the most...and that would be ME..and by the time I realize I have expelled all my energy making all those around ME happy and content..there is nothing left for me..I feel drained and weak..So since I grow older everyday..I guess the older I get the more I realize I need to stop worrying about how others will react to my decisions and choices and make sure that the choices I make everyday are the ones that make me smile...
Today I am smiling because I am loved..

That I will never stop loving you...it will be 40 years July 4, 2011, and I love you today as I always have.
It's been an interesting morning, my love. We've both wandered and meandered thru life without each other - both of us have had many lovers in-between, many life experiences. Yet, we have never lost sight of each other. Many years have gone without knowing about you, but somehow, we always manage to reconnect.
I said it was an interesting morning...last night you phoned me - second attempt of the day, you said. When I checked my messages, it was true, you had called. Then again last night...I always know that things are not going well for you when you do that - it seems to be the only time you think of me - when things are not going so rosey for you. But no matter, I am grateful for you reaching out, regardless. To hear your voice makes my heart soar - I am an old fool - and we all know there's no fool like an old one.
Today, we spoke at length on FB, and I was so happy. I posted a teary, romantic song for you, and thank God, you didn't dismiss it the way you usually do...you posted you liked it, and I love you for that. That song says everything that's always been in my heart for you, and as long as I live - even if I never see you again - my heart will always be yours, and so will my soul. After all this time, you can still make me cry, as tears stream down my face as I write this...
Sorry for the self-indulgent post - but I just had to unburden this, or I think I would burst.

.....not to take life for granted...it can end so suddenly, leaving behind those you care about that didn't get a chance to say good bye. (when you hear completely unexpected news that a family member has passed away and left a 9 year old daughter behind... your heart just hurts for her because she didn't get to say good bye to Daddy.)
....the more wisdom I embrace, the more I realize I have made some really special, deep connections with incredibly important family members and special, close friends that I will never take for granted.
When I was younger, I once thought with dread that life was a chore that had to be tolerated in misery and I faced each day with the thought of "when is this crap going to end?".... I've lived a full 9 and a half lives in my years... today in my "old age" and wisdom, I realize life is a blessing and I want to spend it with the important people that are so very special to me, that I can't imagine life without them or the blessing to share our lives together.
