Have you investigated the concept of a trinary gender system lately? What I am finding personally that it still doesn't speak to me (or other butches/femmes like me) and a preoccupation with masculinity and males persists. Just feels as oppressive and predicated on the traditional patriarchal as gender binary is! Is this just another box of constriction?

I want a Mutibinary that transcends traditional so called male-female norms! We are stopping at 3? There has got to be a more enlightened definition of the trinary.... please tell me that there is! Prove me wrong, I need it here..... Please post information that you have!

Are we stopping with 3? Male, female, and intergendered? And the nucleus remains within the context of the binary? With all of the cross-cultural information out there that demonstrates gender as multi-dimensional.
That's it?! Hummm... many of us here are of the other (myself being of an other-female form that is not transgendered).... probably hasn't even been identified yet)....

Some links/comments that came up for me for an internet search about the trinary:

"Artist's Comments: I am very offended that the existing symbol for transgenderism only includes three groups (Male, Female and Intersex). I feel that, for a group that has suffered as much oppression as the Transgender Rights Movement, they could be a LITTLE more inclusive of those of us who don't fit into the Trinary.
To that effect, I have designed a new model for the Transgenderism logo. As you can see, mine includes several new categories for gender identifications that have previously been ignored. I believe these additions will prove quite handy for the Movement in general."
