If anyone has watched the very good season one of Bloodline on Netflix, I finally found that season two is starting.

Great series about a super dysfunctional family in Florida. It has suspense, drama, murder and everything you could sink your teeth into for some great binge-watching. It has a stellar cast with terrific acting.

From Deadline Hollywood:

Playing brothers on different sides of the law, Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn earned Emmy noms for the first season of the family drama set in the Florida Keys. Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett and Enrique Murciano also star. KZK Productions and Sony Pictures Television produce for Netflix

The Netflix series’ 10-episode second season will premiere on May 27.

If anyone was on the original Netflix plan of receiving DVD's (so long ago!) and then changed to the just streaming plan for $7.99 per month; that is changing.

Netflix is raising prices to $9.99 for strictly streaming.

I first read it on a blog but then got a nice message on my screen from Netflix when I turned on my Roku yesterday.

Rise in price is effective August 1st.

This may or may not apply to you.

This applies to me. I got the message yesterday as well. I am actually surprised it took them so long considering the streaming of video has been huge for awhile now. Stands to reason they would bump the price. Thanks for the heads up Anya. :)

Yes, my price here in Canada also went up to $9.99...and it doesn't help that we have about half the choices that Americans get because of distribution rights issues ( or so they tell us).

But, to add to my misery these days, as soon as Netflix kicks in, I get a message on my screen requiring me to sign in...and that is long and tedious with letter picking off the tv screen using the up-down arrows of my tv remote.

NetFlix says it's LG's fault ( tv brand) LG says it's Netflix fault.

Anyone recognise this issue or something similar?

Each says that everything is up to date from their end when i read off all the versions, numbers, messages, etc etc etc over the phone to those highly skilled call-centre technical professionals.

We had this problem when we installed Netflix on the GF's Samsung smart TV. It drove me nearly insane until I typed into Google: "problems logging into Netflix on Samsung Smart TV.

There were pages of people with the same problem and I followed the most logical directions and fixed it.

I tried Google just now and substituted "Problems logging into Netflix with LG TV" and it appears you are not the only one!

You might find the answer among the responses.

Best of luck!

Anyone watch Stranger Things on Netflix?

I liked it. I think there are 8 episodes and I just read they got the OK for season 2.

Anything else good on Netflix (or Prime) that you have seen?

I was so behind on Bates Motel and have now binged my way to the end of season 4 on Netflix. I'm extremely picky which few shows I invest in and this is now one of my favorites of all time. I rarely follow modern shows. So heartbreaking, but also a real treat for those who love creepy + vintage. So well done. And I am in love with the soundtrack of the 4th season as well as with the relationship of Alex and Norma. I will really miss this show.

Not a movie but it is Netflix.

I just got ridiculously happy to find another season added to:

The Great British Baking Show!

I love this show even though I sit here in wonder (and a bit of jealously) and say: "That is amazing! How do they do that?!"

"Glenn is an English teacher in 6th form. He lives in Exeter with his husband Robb and their dog..."

love it!

I've been watching the original Netflix series called, Ozark, starring Jason Bateman, in the series' leading role. Wow, it's pretty good..So, I won't say much about it, but if you liked HBO'S Sopranos, then you'll like this series. I'm on episode no. 5, and each episode has its own brand of scariness, it's fairly intense. Thanks for posting about this show, homoe!

An aspiring novelist enters into a relationship with a woman, though there's just one catch: She's married, and the couple can only meet between the hours of 5 and 7 each evening.

Sidebar:The informal expression le cinq à sept refers to what could be considered a very French version of Happy Hour: the two-hour period after work, from 5 to 7 pm, when (some) people meet up with their lovers before going home to their spouses. Translation: an afternoon tryst.

I started watching this new Netflix documentary series today about California fire fighters. It also includes the women from prison that volunteer to go through fire fighter training to fight fires side by side with the men and women professional fire fighters from across the state.

California has 60+ million dead and dying trees, AKA fuel. They are due to increasing climate change temperatures, drought and a tiny bug called a bark beetle that eats away at trees dying from the drought. Fire season starts earlier every year now.

I guess you can tell, I think it is an excellent series.

OMG, if you haven't seen it yet, a good friend recommended that I see the documentary about Jerry Seinfeld called Jerry Before Seinfeld. I found it on Netflix today and it was super funny. It's classic Jerry Seinfeld, and there's clips of him as a kid growing up, and clips from back when he first was working in stand up comedy, out in NYC. Catch it while you can, you'll like it a lot! Very enjoyable. :balloon:

I recently finished Mindhunter and Stranger Things 2, loved them both. Mindhunter is all about the development of the Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI, and their realization that there were people who hunted other human beings, and the unit developed the criteria used to identify a person as a potential serial killer. Stranger Things 2, is the second season of Stranger Things, a group of boy nerds find a strange girl and down the rabbit hole, we go! The second season is even better than the first, I think this is the most creative show I've seen.

So back to Hulu and Elementary!

Absolutely terrific series. German with English subtitles

Partial review below. It was shown in two seasons in Germany, with a total of 16 episodes.

Luckily, Netflix is streaming all 16 episodes and I am on #10.

Review from Refinery 29 and it is entitled:

Why aren't you watching Babylon Berlin already?

"Set in 1929, Babylon Berlin centers around Inspector Gereon Rath (Volker Bruch, your new Netflix bae), a police officer recently arrived from his hometown of Cologne to join the Vice squad in Germany's capital. But what appears to be a straightforward assignment takes a series of strange turns that lead Rath and his partner, Bruno Wolter (Peter Kurth), to investigate a mystery that will take them from underground S&M porn dens all the way to the top tiers of power."

The Bleeding Edge (Netflix Launch: 2018)

America has the most technologically advanced health care system in the world, yet medical interventions have become the third leading cause of death, and the overwhelming majority of high-risk implanted devices never require a single clinical trial. In The Bleeding Edge, Academy Award nominated filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Invisible War, The Hunting Ground) turn their sights on the $400 billion medical device industry, examining lax regulations, CORPORATE cover-ups, and profit driven incentives that put patients at risk daily. Weaving emotionally powerful stories of people whose lives have been irrevocably harmed, the film asks: what life-saving technologies may actually be killing us?

Tonight I am watching The Tribes of Palos Verdes.

When the Mason family moves to idyllic Palos Verdes, Calif., the father, Phil, loves it but the mother, Sandy, feels out of place among the fake tans and tennis skirts. Phil and Sandy's daughter, Medina, is a loner and outcast at school, while her charismatic brother, Jim, is effortlessly popular. When Medina and Jim take up surfing, they must prove their right to share the waves with the tough Bayboys gang that monopolizes their stretch of beach.

I enjoyed the film… However I would only give it about a 5/10. Well acted, decent story, but in a week, I won't remember much about it.

Roma — Netflix Film

A favorite for one of the best films of the year and a presumed Oscar contender, Roma is Alfonso Cuarón’s first feature-length film since Gravity, and a far more grounded, personal work. A semi-autobiographical film about a middle-class family and their live-in housekeeper in Mexico City’s Colonia Roma district, Roma isn’t just a tender domestic portrait, but something more. Quietly set against the unspoken backdrop of the country’s Guerra Sucia. Beautifully shot in black-and-white, Roma is a film that is best seen in theaters, but having it easily accessible on Netflix is a gift. Arrives December 14th.
