finding a reference photo that I just have to paint or draw. Staring at the white paper or canvas with excitement, dreaming about the colors, how it will look when finished, letting the color flow onto the paper (watercolors), twisting and turning the paper to get the color where I want it, watching it dry and realizing that it is just right.

Finishing up a landscape right now. I found some flower still life reference photos that are awesome for the next watercolor painting. Will begin that one tomorrow......when I am drawing or painting all is right with the world and hours just breeze by and I am unaware of just about everything!

tonight I went to the madrigal dinner that my daughter was performing in. She was one of the two jesters. It was magical and she was wonderful. She carried around a stick unicorn and during one of her trips to my table, I grabbed the unicorn and announced she had stolen my horse and called for her hanging...the people all shouted for it too as she had been blowing out their candles, tying their shoes to the tables, etc. She pulled to take the horse away, and away I went! She drug me all around the place in my chair! LOL>..they roared! I finally was rescued by a maiden and I pardoned my daughter by gifting her my steed.

Swordsmen came up into the room and one of them started to flirt with me...I had to laugh because ...well..you know! Before I could blink an eye another came up and caste a duel with him for my favors. I said NO NO...I am not on that team...but they heard me not. Suddenly they turned to me and said "pick fair maiden" and I blurted out" Well pick up your kilts and let me see if ye are what I seek" YOU know what I meant..they didnt. My sister who was with me, and my daughter did, and they were dying laughing. The king made some statement about men in skirts and I stood and said, "no no sire, somehow this fits with me"...and the audience again laughed tho not sure why...

today, because I was working on another dog, they asked if I wanted to help in another matter.

omg...the worst animal pound I have ever seen. (via video) Long story short...we pulled three dogs out that surely would have died overnite. One was a newfie mix who was screaming in pain for THREE DAYS and biting and tearing at her back and hips yet they did nothing. Ice was inside on the floor..feces everywhere...frozen water in all their buckets (no pails..just
horse buckets)

last week legal action was taken to remove 30 dogs out of there (yes its the county's pound!) only 10 are surviving from just the weekend.

the newfie girl is no longer screaming..she has seen the vet. I am waiting to hear what was wrong...

I enjoy triathlons. I miss them greatly. I am sitting here in the dead of winter forming a plan in my mind to compete and complete at least two for 2011. I enjoy the feeling of pushing the limits of what my middle aged, not treated so kindly body can do in the water, on the bike, and during the run. I enjoy coming out of the water, running for my bike,feeling the water streaming off of me then mixing with my sweat to be dried by the speed of my movement and the wind on my bike. I enjoy the flying dismount off of my bike and the long hard slog of running as fast as an oak tree with legs can run! Most of all I enjoy the feeling of crossing the finish line. I know that my only competition is ME, because I am big, slow,and not a spring chicken. But that feeling of accomplishment, of saying "I can do this" and finishing what I started can NEVER be taken away from me and I can't wait to feel it again!

Well this afternoon I enjoyed running into 2 brothers at 2 different places and them telling me what a, in their words.......Cluster F***........it was at work today. Of the 3 people doing my job today they had 9 loads only loaded 6 of them and of those 6 they had to unload 2 of those. One was loaded on the wrong trailer and the other was missing a skid, when they figured out what skid it was it was a 20' skid that had to go in the nose of the trailer so they had to unload all of it...........Ahhhhhhh I sure enjoy being missed

I so enjoy watching the birds enjoy my birdfeeders and shelters I have made and put up. I am not one to dig out the books and figure out which kind is out there. They just are all pretty and delightful to me. I love how they flit from one feeder or shelter to another. I am hoping to get some store bought ones for my birthday coming up. I sit on a stool and watch them, drinking my coffee.

There is so much hominess in this house. I am really very happy here and am living "the dream". I have learned it is not so much about finding the right person as it is not to keep finding the wrong persons! LOL. Riderless horses really are free....

I am enjoying being put thru grueling physical workouts. In the past I would curse the trainer but now...I am so happy to be able to make my body work hard. There was a time when I would detest sweating...now I WANT to sweat, it means I am pushing this previously sedentary body to a new level. When the sweat starts running down my face and into my eyes...I have to admit I enjoy it ~ it means I have taken control of how I treat this one body I have been given and it feels damn good.

I enjoy days like today when the climate has warmed up enough to make a significant difference in my mobility, pain level, joint stiffness and fatigue!!!

Just less dampness and humidity can make all the difference along with a bit of sun (hit the mid-60's today). I began "enjoying" some of this freedom yesterday- but today my energy level rose right up! I was a busy bee with some chores, took a long walk with my pooch and didn't need pain medication!!! This is how retirement should feel!!

Yeah- this Monkey Puppy has to face the fact that she needs to re-locate to a dryer and warmer region throughout more months of the year. Southwest probably (but NOT AZ), but I keep hearing parts of Texas might work for me. I liked Atlanta when I visited a few years ago- but it can be pretty humid. Have to do some exploring and just figure it out.
