lotsa things give me peace normally.
instant gratification is sounding sweet right about now tho!
thinking today my 'peace' shall be a nice drive with really loud music.
indeed.
thinking today my 'peace' shall be a nice drive with really loud music.
Since I hit a brick wall (not literally) a few weeks ago I've found that I appreciate music a lot more. It brings me a sense of peace to drive through the Ct. countryside and listen to sad, lost your love, type of songs. My poor dog is ready to hang herself ....
Removing toxicity from my life gives me peace.....sometimes, it's easier said than done, but when it happens, it's magically delicious!

If You've had a cruddy day, what do You do to 'shake it off'? Meditate? Listen to music? Read? Walk?
What do You do to center Yourself...to bring peace to Your soul?

A few months ago, I began meditating every morning........I love it!
I meditate with special, quiet and soothing music (no lyrics).
That gives me peace for the rest of my day.
I paint. That gives me massive amounts of peace.
Third, while it has been a difficult task at times, I found that toxic people took away my peace, so I got rid of those who brought toxicity to my life. Easier said than done. But well worth it.
I am peace~filled and happy. LIFE. IS. GOOD!

The quietness and peace one can sense in my church sanctuary on a weekday afternoon when the outside world is way too stressed.
Postage stamps that are unique and support something dear to me.
My mother spending the night at my house...those late night conversations and fabulous snacks.
My daughter texting me when it gets late just to make sure I am home and safe.
Any one of my 3 precious cats sleeping in my lap.
Waking only because the sun is shining through my blinds and curtains.
October breezes.
The newspaper being delivered to my door.
Order in my home.
Memories of San Francisco.
Pens in an array of different colors.
The smell of a freshly painted room.

Understanding pain so I can recognize and dwell in happiness and joy.

Water ~ for this Pisces ~ certainly is a peaceful thing for me (looking at Turtle's photo above!). I even have this great Rainfall sounds ap on my phone....different types of rain (on a window, in a forest, on an umbrella, etc.) and I go to sleep with that peaceful sound! Alas, there are no thunderstorms, but I make do! ;)
The sound of water gives me peace.
Whether is the ap, the ocean, a thunderstorm, or water falling gently over stones in the Nueces River.....all is peaceful for me.

I've been finding peace in odd places lately. My current odd place is re-reading books I read when I was a kid. They have a bigger meaning and understanding for me now, yet I find peace.
(when I say kid, I mean 15 to 20ish)
Silence.
Stop all the noises that are continually bombarding us, and relish the quiet. It is both calming and invigorating.

There have been times in the past when I had to CHOOSE Peace consciously....physically stop myself from walking a non~peaceful path and choose another direction.
Breathing deeply usually does that for me now.
Instrumentally quiet music, no lyrics, does it for me as well.
If I want to maintain that peace, I find that *I* am the Orchestrator.

Beautifully said! I too have the rainfall app on my phone....I also have a shower or bath to find my inner balance again and go a feed the local Swans. I love thunderstorms and miss living in the tropical countries that had them often. I'm a true Pisces as well! :)

Although I haven't always choosen the most peaceful path to walk in my life, I have peace in knowing that I've grown, experienced and grapped the adventures with both hands and my heart.
Music, especially classical and Maori have always been my constant companions in which I've found my inner peace. My beautiful cats purring is another very peaceful soothing sound. :)

Never before in my life could I say that my "family" gave me peace, the one I was born with can not, or will not accept me for who I am and work hard to change me to what they wish I was....
But, this morning as I wake up, I know that I have built a chosen family who loves me unconditionally. Who want success and happiness for me. Who would sacrifice anything or my well-being, as I would for theirs. I love my family, my true family, and they bring me peace.

- my inner growth, determination and joy within all brings me peace.. The constant work on my self-journey, the hard honesty and the growing confidence.. seeing and feeling my beauty, believing in myself and recognizing my self-worth.. All things that bring me such peace.. And knowing i've a long way to go just yet - but the inner peace is something to cherish and celebrate..
- Buddha.. Having embraced my spirituality, and what a rollercoaster journey it's been in doing so - having such an intense trust, turning to my Higher Power, the meditations, the beauty in the precious moments spent with Buddha, especially these last couple of days - much peace spiritually.. ♥
- being outdoors, at one with nature, enjoying the fresh air.. i love trees, they've such character and beauty.. There is one tree i soo love and visit often.. sometimes i read beneath it, or lay up against it and take in the beauty around me.. i feel a great sense of peace with that willow tree, and it's hanging branches feels like a warm hug.. All trees tell a story to me, i love exploring them, and other things while out hiking trails.. i love rocks too & collect them as they, too, bring me such peace.. Whether they're something special to keep in my pocket, or a smooth surface to paint.. or just to admire the details of it.. they make me smile..
- the love i have with Mtn, Our amazing trust, communication and always being present for one another.. the safe feeling i have when i'm in His arms, His protective nature, and chasing the monsters from under my bed, the warmth and joy i feel in His presence..The happiness in my heart, the flutterbees when i see or hear from Him, and the feel of His touch.. all brings me peace..

She let go.
Without a thought or a word,
she let go. She let go of the fear.
She let go of the judgments. She
let go of the confluence of
opinions swarming around her
head. She let go of the committee
of indecision within her. She let
go of all the 'right' reasons.
Wholly and completely, without
hesitation or worry, she just let go.
She didn't ask anyone for advice .
She didn't read a book on how to
let go. She didn't search the
scriptures. She just let go. She let
go of all the memories that held
her back. She let go of all the
anxiety that kept her from moving
forward. She let go of the
planning and all of the
calculations about how to
do it just right.
She didn't promise to let go. She
didn't journal about it. She didn't
write the projected date in her
Day-Timer. She made no public
announcement and put no ad in
the paper. She didn't check the
weather report or read her daily
horoscope. She just let go.
She didn't analyze whether she
should let go. She didn't call her
friends to discuss the matter. She
didn't do a five-step Spiritual
Mind Treatment. She didn't call
the prayer line. She didn't utter
one word. She just let go.
No one was around when it
happened. There was no
applause or congratulations. No
one thanked her or praised her.
No one noticed a thing. Like a
leaf falling from a tree, she just
let go. There was no effort. There
was no struggle. It wasn't good
and it wasn't bad. It was what it
was, and it is just that.
In the space of letting go, she let
it all be. A small smile came over
her face. A light breeze blew
through her. And the sun and the
moon shone forevermore.. ♥

I can't take any form of "discussion" these days. I can take low level arguments with mild name calling like you do with your mates, but very earnest, serious, hours long "discussions"? Destroys my peace of mind. Makes me bonkers. Jovial bickering I can take. discussions make me want to open my wrists.

Getting my raging mop cut and colored after almost 6 months is going to bring me a lot of peace tomorrow, lol.
I look afright!
Alternatively, meditation works wonders for me. Exercise; specifically walking outdoors is an excellent stress-buster. Prayer. And this might sound silly, but simple tasks help; for instance, focusing on cleaning or fixing something. Creative outlets, hobbies, etc; volunteering. (There's nothing better than helping out someone else in need to put your own problems into perspective!)
I find these all particularly helpful around this time of year.
lol, and there are lots of other things that make me feel peaceful too, but not anything I will be discussing here. :x
Peace is the new pattern to my weekend.
A pair of my boxer briefs and some old sweater from the back of my closet become the sexiest lingerie on her. Faint threads of her perfume on my pillow when I settle into bed. She curls against me while she sleeps. I feel assaulted by a visceral response to the innocent warmth of her against me in the dark. I'm compelled to reach for her. Anticipation for the soft, sleepy sounds she makes as I wake her.
Laying in bed, awake, eyes closed, mentally tracing her steps through the house based on the sound and smells of her Sunday morning ritual - fire place first, espresso maker next. Sunday NYT thumping onto my chair; metal scoop digging into a bin of black sunflower seeds near the side door; the patter of them filling the feeders and being scattered across the ground. Door closing quickly against the cold. The chime of a spoon stirring milk into her coffee. Creak of the cedar chest hinges as she pulls out that ancient quilt my grandmother made.
Going downstairs quietly as I can. Hoping to catch sight of her settling into her new "habitat". I find her on the sun porch, wrapped up against the cold because the heat from the fire place rarely reaches back here. She cradles her favorite cup, a book left open by her side as she watches the Phoebes and Cardinals vie for the breakfast she left them. Her green eyes shift at the sound of me at the doorway. Some energy no one else gets to share slips away as I come into the room. She watches my face. Hesitation. She looks, waits, to see if some unwanted change has come to destroy this new world while she was sleeping. I make a silent promise, every time I see that look, that I won't ever sabotage her that way. Finding nothing to be afraid of she smiles that slow, crooked smile. Can't resist tugging her onto my lap, greedy for the warmth of her and the blanket. Kissing her until I'm ready to do something else. Maybe the day never progresses past this point. Who cares? It's Sunday. These are the sounds of our life - finally together.

Peace for me is very visual. i find looking out the window at nature refreshing. When i look into the eyes of my family i find peace. My heart bounces when i see them smile. When H takes me in Her arms and holds me and Her heart beat. i watch Her hand as She strokes my arm. i am at peace when the image before me is at peace.

In that way, there is always time for enjoyment of all stripes. I probably still have far to go in that regard, but I don't feel in any hurry - just cutting down on the extraneous bit by bit until I arrive there and enjoying the ride in the meantime.
What is very interesting is to observe how unsettling this sort of idea is to so many people. It is approaching time for me to take a wide detour. But please don't ask me what I mean by that because I'm not exactly sure myself yet.

Waking up early enough to finish brewing a pot of coffee before the sun starts to rise. Opening up the blinds and then standing in my living room in a place where I can see out all three windows and watch the the world down below/all around me come to life as I sip my coffee savoring each drop.
Hearing from my oldest every year before he heads out to celebrate on New Year's Eve. Again when he gets to where he's headed. Again after midnight, and then again on New Year's Day after he's made it home safely. My son has done this every year but one since the age of 18 and he's now in his mid 30's. And the one year he forgot, this year, he still called me before he left, when he got there and before noon the next day. Major dependable, reliable, responsible he is and that gives me such a feeling of peace.
Keeping a little put aside for a rainy day. My sons laugh and give me grief about it but even though they think I'm being paranoid, if they see a really good price on something, some necessity they'll alert me to the sale or occasionally pick something up for me. It gives me a real sense of peace, feeling of safety and comfort to look in my closets, cabinets, pantry whatever and see multiples of things I use on a regular, best of all every day basis.

Seeing as I have a tendency to overthink...a lot...this can be a bit challenging at times. But, what brings me peace is really just trying to focus on the moment at hand and accept everything as it is at this moment in time. This really allows me to open my heart up to gratitude, and sometimes that feeling can be so overwhelming that it feels like my heart may burst! In a very good way, of course.
Music and Mother Nature are the two main catalysts that help me get to that place.

Detaching ... learned to use this as a coping skill early in life and it’s one of my go-to places for peace of mind.

These days it's being home and sleeping in my own bed with the tv on and being with those I care about. It's better than visiting your hometown and nearly getting shot by gang members or going camping and almost becoming a 411 case..both,that recently happen to me.

When my Sweetie surrounds me in his arms: I feel safe, loved and protected by his love for me, when I am nestled in his loving presence. To feel him stroking my hair while his hand is wrapped around my waist as I breathe with him, our exchange of affection (privately or in public or among our friends, brings peace to us both. ✨✨✨✨❤️✨✨✨✨
