Trans Week of Remembrance @ the University of Toronto organised by the Centre for Women and Trans People.
http://womenscentre.sa.utoronto.ca/2010/11/09/trans-week-of-remembrance-2010/

The Centre for Women and Trans People will commemorate this year’s Trans Day of Remembrance by offering a full Trans Week of Remembrance for Two Spirit, Intersex, and Trans people, and all who have been impacted by anti-trans violence and discrimination. A week is not enough – together let’s continue to actively resist violence and celebrate trans lives always. The Centre is honoured to be part of this work and hopes everyone has a chance to create a space for the remembrance of community members hurt or lost, and to collect and share in our own personal reflections.

This is what I could find on S.F. as listed on The Bar Area Reporter;http://www.ebar.com/news/article.php?sec=news&article=4353 :
"In San Francisco, several local organizations are joining together to host a Transgender Day of Remembrance event, also on November 20. It takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Asian and Pacific Islander Wellness Center, 730 Polk Street (at Ellis). Alexandra Byerly from the El/La Transgender Latina HIV Prevention Program will be the keynote speaker."

There will also be one in Oakland that is listed on the site linked in the OP, if that is any help.

6th Annual Winnipeg Transgender Day of Remembrance
Saturday, November 20 · 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Circle of Life Thunderbird House, 715 Main St.

Winnipeg’s 6th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance (WTDOR)
Remember. Honour. Embrace. Celebrate. Educate. Advocate.

November 20, 2010 marks the sixth annual Winnipeg Transgender Day of Remembrance (WTDOR) and the 12th annual International TDOR. This day serves as an opportunity to recognize, honour, embrace, celebrate, and remember the people who encounter or endure discrimination, prejudice, persecution, isolation, or violence ...because of their [perceived] gender identity and/or expression.

TDOR is also about raising awareness, educating, and advocating for the rights and recognition of individuals who identify as transgender, trans
sexual, genderqueer, any variation of/from/beyond these. This free, all ages, event will be located in an accessible, drug and alcohol free venue. We will be handing out an agenda shortly, after the moment of silence there will be one song drummed.

Austin, Texas

Saturday, November 20th
6:30 pm
301 W. 2nd Street
Austin 78767

We live in times more sensitive than ever to hatred based violence. Over the last decade, more than one person per month has died due to transgender-based hate or prejudice, regardless of any other factors in their lives. This trend shows no sign of abating. Many of these crimes remain unreported and unsolved.

With this in mind we invite you to please stand with us in solidarity Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 6:30 pm on the steps of City Hall.

Transgender Americans face high suicide risk

New survey paints a portrait of trans people's lives in the U.S.

(excerpt)

A staggering 41 percent of transgender people in the United States have attempted to commit suicide, according to a new survey. About 19 percent of transgender people report being refused medical care because of their gender-nonconforming status, and a shocking 2 percent have been violently assaulted in a doctor's office.

These statistics are just some of the sobering findings from a survey of more than 7,000 transgender people conducted by the National Center for Transgender Equality and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, released in October 2010.

There is nothing going on near me but I will be thinking of all of you and remembering in my way. I had a few whispers about there being some sort of remembrance at the university pride group nearby but they keep things very quiet no location announced. Not a good area for the glb and especially the t's.
