Me and Blaze went shopping for clothes for the reunion... since it was Tax free weekend here in Texas.
We both found some cool stuff to wear from the "Buffalo Exchange" it's a resale/trade clothing store in Houston. Thats about it.

Ohhh and I had to get brakes for my car they went out on me on Friday.

Got away from Casa de Chaos, met new friends, watched roller derby, cooked a yummy meal (haven't been able to really cook in a while so this was special), found a new skirt and sweater that I can wear for work or doll up for a date. It was a good weekend.

My Friday started off sad with the passing of a family member ...
Then in steps a very precious person that said, "Come see me".
I went and had a wonderful weekend of support and abundant discovery.
It was a truly terrific experience and one I will always be thankful for!

We did a lot of shopping.....first stop was Chinatown, then to Costco, then off again to the Commissary. We had a wonderful dinner with my Pop and my cousins in Chinatown and we also fit a couple of visits to the casino in. :)

The last visit to the casino, last night, netted me a $4000 jackpot win on a poker machine and L winning nearly $600 on a couple of slot machines. It was a good time had by the both of us. :winky::clap:

Brunch with friends Saturday morning.

Went to a casino with a friend Saturday night, accidentally stayed until after the train stopped running so I couldn't get home on my own. He still wanted to play, so I ended up falling asleep at a slot machine. A casino attendant came by to inform that you're not allowed to sleep at the casino. Whoops.

The kids and I, plus the neighbor kids and their mom, all went to Magic Springs (an amusement park). There were glitches on many of the rides, and they don't have all the workers now that will be there in summer, but it was still a blast. Can't wait for the water park to open!

Going to a chamber music concert in the Berkshires!... I sooo love chamber music. It allows my favorite instrument, the cello, to really shine... It doesn't hurt that it's the Boston Symphony performing. I've never seen them in concert (that I recall..I saw a lot of concerts while I was in school; band geek :P )

Saturday was mostly spent with the kiddo: Steak n Shake (his favorite), Gamestop, two different malls, and the costume shop. I also helped him work on one of his art projects. Afterwards I relaxed a bit and caught up on some paperwork.

Sunday was a bit of work and play, both. Lunch with my folks. Then met with one of my July brides to finalize the contract and pick up the deposit. Afterwards my mom and I went to bingo. Had a good time despite losing money lol

Went to Indiana and saw the Indy 500. Considering the way it ended Mistress was pretty steamed to have it end on whatever color flag it was under. A shame really as it is pretty expensive to attend. I had a nice time drawing and reading and doing crosswords. I also did all the food fetching which helped kill the monotony of circular driving.
I must say it is difficult at best navigating aluminum bleachers in 6 inch stiletto heels. A challenge.

Played a softball tournament in Nashville. I got sweaty, dirty, and a little sunburned. It was great!

Cijs though...I've navigated a great deal of interstates in several cities, but the roads in Nashville are cray cray. Y'all need some help from the DOT. Each time I go to the music city I'm on high alert while driving. Lol.

Oh man what didn't we do over the weekend. Saturday we went to a friends house in the morning and sat and chatted for a bit. Then from there we drove into the city and met up with more friends and walked around the Haight for a little bit. Then we went home and got ready for the company holiday party. Everyone was complimenting my girl on her dress, as they should be because she looked amazing.

Then on Sunday we went to Costco and opened up a membership together and then to Verizon so we could merge onto the same plan. Then it was back into the city where we went to China Town and walked around there before the long trek home.

Went to a place that looked like a junk yard but was full of antiques and collectibles. Trailers buildings and old chicken houses full. Plus racks of stuff out on the ground and on shelves.

Had a blast seeing things and getting ideas and even bought some stuff.

It was like picker heaven only they don't haggle prices and things aren't priced you either stop someone that works there and ask them or you take a picture of it with your phone and ask about pricing at the gate.

Hey Doll, you got a great Weekend thread!

Last weekend (Thanksgiving holiday), I went to see Jamie Lee Curtis in the new movie Knives Out, and it was SOOOO good. We got a ton of laughs and thought the movie was just the ticket for a holiday movie to go see.

This weekend (Sunday Sunday) we're going to go see the Mark Ruffalo documentary concerning corporate malfeasance by DuPont (Dark Waters). Should be a really intense documentary to watch.

We're also gonna go out for supper at a nearby supper bar and then go shopping late at night.

My neighbor's came over today to help me rearrange the front room of my studio, so I can get to my bicycle easier. They also helped me carry it down stairs and helped me get up on it. I rode it in the parking lot for over 17 minutes, giggling because it was SO exhilarating to be on the bicycle, riding it again since three years ago. I was so scared. Falling scares me, big time, because I've fallen several times this year already. But I didn't fall and I am so tickled I could face my fears and ride my bike, even if it was only for 17 minutes before I felt like I go not go another single minute. My cardio rate was 130 and I biked around for approximately 1.1 miles (fitbit data).

I plan to rest tomorrow. Busy work week ahead.

NYE is Tuesday night and I have big plans to spend it with my chosen family, which is always fun and peaceful and relaxing. We're going to play cards and maybe even go for a long drive on New Years day to visit a casino and have brunch, while we spend a little bit of money. I only plan to spend $20, which is partly brunch expenses and maybe a casino game too.

I am taking full advantage of being on winter break. Working 50+ hours a week, field placement for another 20 and homework has killed my weekends as all I do is catch up on sleep, do chores, cook and write papers. So since I came back from my vacation on the 20th I am making sure I get outside and hike whenever possible. This morning after getting my oil changed was a 6 mile hike and tomorrow will be a 7 miler followed by grocery shopping and then a visit with a friend. I am so happy this winter has been so mild and I haven't had to hike in really cold weather yet. I realize I am a much happier person when I get out into nature and have promised myself to make this a priority moving forward.
