Peanut butter with banana and honey/agave is the best. My grandmother used to make triple decker sandwiches for me as a kid like this:
bread
peanut butter
honey/agave/caramel
bread
peanut butter
banana
bread
The stuff was awesome!
If you could travel, where would you go? What is your favourite place to visit or the place you want to visit the most? Why?

Either creamy or crunchy, but only the organic stuff for me, minus the sugar. Definitely with sliced bananas on a sandwich or scooped onto the top of the banana itself. Love that stuff!
P to the s: It's also good with golden raisins sprinkled on top.

Merlin, I have a couple of questions for you:
Do you have a favorite place there in England you like to visit often?
Over here, I like visiting the coast and watching people fly kites!
I often attend the kite festival down in Lincoln City
and when 4th of July festivities take place, I like to go downtown Portland to the Blues Festival on the waterfront!
Do you like blues and if so, who's your favorite artist/band?

Adele
Phil Collins
Taio Cruz

I prefer creamy but will eat crunchy just as easily.
I love American Idol and SYTYCD (premiers June 26th, I believe) and The Voice.
I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches on multi-grain bread. Love peanut butter on apple slices. Love peanut butter, period. I only eat the natural (low sugar) kind.

I like to fly kites, mostly deltas, but I have done a little bit with stunt kites.

Dancing feeds my soul and helps keep me in shape. It's a serious thing to me.
I love fishing, especially fly fishing. Goes along with camping, although I am now at an age that I like RV camping. Well, a small, Class B RV.
Throwing some Grape Nuts into Greek yogurt with blackberries is a new high of mine.
I'm reserved and shy- guess that is something one wouldn't get unless they meet me in person. But, I am good at social conversation.
Cooking for friends and having them in for dinner is something I like to do. I'm a homebody in many ways. I enjoy and am proud of my modest home and like to share it with people I care about.
I'm protective of family/loved ones and my home.
I'm a glass half-full kind of person.

Wiki:
Olivia Newton-John was born in Cambridge, England, to a Welsh father, Brinley ("Bryn") Newton-John, and a German-born mother, Irene Born, the eldest child of the Nobel prize-winning atomic physicist Max Born. Her mother's family had left Germany before World War II to avoid the Nazi regime (Newton-John's maternal grandfather was Jewish, and her maternal grandmother was of paternal Jewish ancestry).[4] Her maternal great-grandfather was jurist Victor Ehrenberg and her matrilineal great-grandmother's father was German jurist Rudolf von Jhering. Newton-John is the youngest of three children, following brother Hugh, a doctor, and sister Rona, an actress once married to Grease co-star Jeff Conaway. Newton-John's father was an MI.5 officer on the Enigma project at Bletchley Park who took Rudolf Hess into custody during World War II.[5] In 1954 Newton-John's family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia, where her father worked as a professor of German and as Master of Ormond College at the University of Melbourne.[6]

There is something about the anticipation of such an event as the opera or a musical - learning that is coming to your area - the ticket buying - the planning of attire, and on and on. Sometimes the preparation and anticipation really rivals the actual event, yes?

It's a great thread Merlin, thank you for starting it!
Cake? What's my favorite? Cake! all cake. Victoria Sponge makes me squeal and clap my hands though, as does Sacher Torte and anything chocolate with raspberry!
TV? Bones, House Hunters International, True Blood, Law and Order (all of them including the British version), Weeds, So You Think You Can Dance & Project Runway.
Birth order? I am the oldest and pretty typically bossy. lol.
Favorite airline? Virgin Atlantic
Favorite drink in US: Diet Rite Cola, with lots of ice and a straw.
Favorite drink in UK: Lemonade and orange juice mixed with any ice I can get.
Cool thread--
I am not much of a chocolate fan, but there isn't a type of cake or cookie that I'd refuse except dark chocolate. At the moment, I could go for something lemon. Lemon cake with coconut icing, and lemon cooler cookies. Ummmm.....
Leo, oldest of three, only girl. Not bossy, but I typically get my way. :) Only one to move more than an hour from home. Now I wish I were closer!
Love Indian food most of all, but any ethic cuisine holds my interest.
Love to dance, but don't get to very often. :(

Sweets, yes. Cake, cookies, pie, torts, cupcakes, crepes, etc. I'm not a fan of chocolate by itself but mix it with pb, caramel, coconut or some other equally strong flavoring and I'm good to go.
I love CSI (original best), Bones, L&O, SVU, and other forensics-y shows. One day, I may need to know something I learned from them.
I love dance. I used to boogie down all the time, but not so much anymore. I've never been a 'dancer' per se, but I have noticed a difference in how I move now versus when I was more bendy.
Through music, all things are possible.
My boss' boss loves me. To pieces. Thinks the world of me. I kinda like that.
Um, what else?
I keep thinking of the scene where Sarah Jessica Parker is introducing herself to her new class in Girls Just Want to Have Fun and she's trying to think of something but finally says, "I looooove to dance!" That scene makes me smile.
I love movies. All kinds, except horror. Funny gorrors (gory light horror flicks), like the Final Destination or Nightmare on Elm Street series are okay though.
I haven't eaten anything of substance today. An apple and some snack bags of chips and that's it. I should probably go do something about that.

How many siblings you all have ?
I am one of nine!
my parents together had 3
divorced
my egg doner went on to have 3 more which I only found out about as a teenager when this amazingly pretty teenager sat acroos from me on the public bus and most amazing light brown color and as i stared at her, cause I am a lesbian after all haha, I realized her features were earily similar to mine. same hazel eyes, same mouth, and when I smiled it was like looking into a mirror as she smiled back at me. It freaked us both out. I got off at the next stop ran home and questioned my dad!. he then told me the egg doner went on to have 2 more girls after leaving us. Turns out that beauty sitting accross from me was my 1/2 sister Kim. And after meeting her and my other 1/2 sister Dawn i was amazed by how much we all looked alike.
anywayyyy
dad remarried had 2 more kids
he divorced
remarried had another daughter
the egg doner remarried and had my brother Douglas whom i have never met.
so thats my whole entire disfunctional loving siblings..I love them all! :)
I have two sisters, both younger, married and each with one 4-year old daughter. I have permanent black sheep status in my family. lol

I have a half brother and a half sister but only by law and not by blood. We are not close and never really have been. I'm FB friend's with my brother and my sister and I exchange phone calls or emails a couple of times a year at xmas and birthdays. They are both older, we did not grow up together and have never lived in the same house together although we did travel together a few times a year when I was younger. My family skied often and I have a wall's worth of photos of different configurations of us at the top of the mountain where the pro photographers hit you up when you get of the ski lift.
And, oddly enough, hanging on the wall above my desk is a portrait of my sister and I that we had done by one of the artists on the square during a trip to New Orleans when I was in high school. We look like sisters even though that's not possible. I don't think it looks much like either one of us but I was very young and my hair was very long.
I like cookies but I don't like the eat the same ones all the time.
I also stopped watching television a few months ago when I started using the spare room as an office. I don't miss it. I also don't really listen to music anymore. In the car, if I'm not listening to a ball game, I've got the news channel on so I can hear the traffic reports.
I am a Cancer, and a very typical one. Except when I'm not.

Another Cancer. And an only child. And i have never had children. Can you spell "self-absorbed?" i fight against it, but that's the natural inclination.
My favorite cookie is the cocoa cayenne at Hot Cookie in the Castro, home of the penis shaped cookie. My second favorite are Ginger cookies. i am not eating gluten right now, so no cookies for me. :(
Basically a midwesterner although i live in northern California.
Favorite drink: Diet Grape Soda -- which, it's appalling to relate, cannot be found in the State of California. i miss you, Diet Faygo!
My favorite alcoholic beverage is Bell's Expedition Stout. (also not drinking now, so . . . sigh. i doubt it can be found in California either though i haven't looked.)
My favorite drink that i can actually drink is half fizzy water, half orange juice.
i have two adorable cats. i also would also like a dog, but am too busy. If i got a dog, it would be a Border Terrier. A couple weeks ago, i was sure i wanted a German Shepherd. So who knows what it will be when the day finally comes. Probably an amiable mutt from the shelter.
i love the the ocean, boating (which i haven't done in forever), live music (alt country), and reading. i meditate.
My favorite TV shows from the past are The Wire, West Wing, and Alias. Now i watch In Plain Sight, Bones, Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy, and whatever gets my attention on Netflix.
Which of the arcade games, if any, do you play? i play WOW Connect.

I like both creamy and crunchy peanut butter. My mom never bought the kind with sugar in it while I was growing up, so naturally that's the kind I like the most. ;)
I don't have a television so I don't watch American Idol.
I used to live in Edinburgh, Scotland and if I could travel anywhere, it would include a stop there. I would also like to visit New Zealand, Thailand, Petra, Italy, and...well...I love to travel so anywhere is fine by me. :)
My favorite British bands are: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Texas, Robbie Williams, Dead Can Dance, and many more.
My newest random hobby is hula hooping. I am also a letterboxer, artsy-craftsy, and a classically trained singer.
I have one older brother. He's married, lives about 300 miles away, and his wife just gave birth to my very first niece!
I'm a pisces and pretty much reflect everything I have ever read about the astrological sign.
I think the birth order theory is interesting, but I'm not 100% convinced it's the only one worth paying attention to when it comes to siblings and all that. I'm the second-born and youngest in my family.
I live with one bossy but skitterish Molly :cat:.

I'm a typical Aquarius-strange, individual, dreamer, contrary, brilliant ;)
Very much youngest of four. I had three brothers; the two oldest are deceased.
Grew up in Ohio, but have lived in Arkansas for a decade.
I am a science teacher, secondary schools
I see your peanut butter with bananas, and raise you PB on celery, with raisins (my mother would call this "ants on a log").
I rarely watch television, unless it's classic movies, documentaries, public television, or sports :P.
I will go absolutely anywhere. I'm not much for beaches but you could twist my arm ;). Russia, way out in front, followed by Ireland, Scotland, the rest of England (I only saw London quick and the Midlands), China (again), really anywhere I can learn and grow.
God, I'm old: The Hollies, Herman's Hermits, any of the British Invasion, Doves, Def Leppard, Zepplin-you name it. Some bands I loved for years before realizing they were British.
I play chess, once for competition but now just for fun.

Great thread for a lurker... easy to post once and hide again ;)
I am a manager of Homeowner Associations... the person that is most hated when you live in one! I live in Los Angeles but was raised in the O.C. (prefer LA though!)
Although not a big fan of peanut butter, I do like a bit once in a while with an apple or with chocolate, always creamy!
I am a Scorpio...
I do watch Idol, but now that everyone I like is gone, I am done!
I am pretty boring with my music tastes... I like old stuff, does Shirley Horn count, she lived in England ;) I guess if I had to pick a band, I would say Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd and of course the Beatles! Currently I am enamored with Adelle!
I love to travel, but haven't traveled much in last 7 years, I have been about everywhere north of the equator... time to travel South, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil!
I am the oldest of 4 and a true oldest child, I totally believe in birth order theories... I have a take charge personality, which could be the Scorpio influence also... or it could be that I was also an only child for 8 years before the next was born... who knows!
I love to cook and garden.... but I have to say my favorite hobby is to shop!!!
Steampunk... I love the boarderland series... does that count???

I am Gemini.
Not 'a' Gemini.
Gemini.
Maybe even 'THE' Gemini.
99% of what you read about Geminis is true for me. Most of the time. Give it a minute and things will change. It's appropriate that I'm an air sign because my moods come and go like the weather.
I love cats. I like dogs. I really like guinea pigs and hamster types of cute fuzziness. I don't care for birds as pets, but I do like watching wild fowl. I don't like bugs or creepy things as pets. That's wrong on many levels. And creepy. Wrong and creepy.
At this very moment, I'm eating Keebler's Fudge Shoppe Coconut Dreams cookies, which is their answer to the Girl Scout's Caramel Delights aka Samoa cookies. They are yummy and found year round in the cookie and sweets aisle.
I may really like immediate gratification too.

Peanut butter - Crunchy or creamy? And would either of you eat it with bananas?
I love any kind of nut butter. Splattered on good bread, sliced nanner, drizzle of honey or if I'm feeling like a real glutton I'll skip the honey and add chocolate. Not that fake stuff but a chuck of really good chocolate, shaving it over the nut butter.
I love growing things. I have a farm. Everyday I walk out, grab some strawberries, pop them in my mouth. They feel a live and I feel like such a cannibal. If I'm hungry I might stroll by my garden beds, grab a handful of sugar snaps, eat them.... pick a baby cuke and pop it in my mouth. I'm like god-fucking-zilla towering over my little garden world chomping away. lol
I love animals, especially dogs, more then people. I would rather sit outside on my porch, watch them run and play, drink a glass of wine and do nothing, more then going to a club or almost anywhere else. I love all dogs- spoiled, needy, big, small.

Beatles junkie. All the first songs I learned to play on the guitar were Beatles songs and wearing an old Beatles t-shirt, right now.
I love to road trip and have been all over the US and Canada.

There is something about the anticipation of such an event as the opera or a musical - learning that is coming to your area - the ticket buying - the planning of attire, and on and on. Sometimes the preparation and anticipation really rivals the actual event, yes?
Absolutely !!

I really enjoy this site. I tend to read lots and post... not too much.
I am Canadian :canadian: and where I live the snow is finally gone. We are very dry already, which is kinda good cause then there is less standing water for those pesky skeeters. But May long is this weekend and that generally means "snow storm" which really is horrible because it breaks so many branches that poor trees are just starting to bud now. I hope that is not going to happen this weekend.
I have no odd hobbies. I do have odd practices, such as compassionate depossession, curse removal, soul retreivals (not really odd but not too common).
I love coffee
I love eritrean food
I love watching baseball - pitching fascinates me (I record it and FF through the stupid crap - which brings a game down to like 2 hours instead like almost 4) (Yeah Jays!!!)
We're engaged, also. Planning a fall wedding!
I don't know much about Steampunk, but apparently, I'm having Steampunk elements in my wedding. Or, so says my daughter about the vintage brooch bouquets.
I have a small house in an older neighborhood. There are lots of trees, which makes it feel like we're in the woods, which we love.
Love thunderstorms and clear blue skies, equally.
I love our animals--4 cats and a dog. I never lived with dogs before and thought I didn't care for them. But, there is nothing like getting to know a smiley dog! I am just melted by any pictures of smiling dogs. xxoo

I hate text messages. I grew up without such foolery.
I spent my 27th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Netflix was my idea. I just can't prove it.
I am of the firm belief that if you make a late night trip to the Waffle House, or some other all-night establishment, and walk away without an epic story to tell, you wasted a trip.
Of all the different types of cookies in the world, Snickerdoodles are, by far, the greatest.
I grew up in Tennessee, lived in Kentucky, Georgia, and North Carolina.
My taste in wine has gotten better over the years, but I still couldn’t tell you the difference between Burgundy and Bordeaux.
In 2005, I decided I wanted to buy a building every year. I am behind schedule, but it’s still my goal.
I get pissed off when people confuse "redneck" with "white trash." THEY'RE NOT THE SAME!!!
I am 5 years older than Beasley.
I saw "Star Wars" the first weekend it opened, when it was first released in 1977.
Received a college degree at the age of 32.
Beasley's nickname is Lolly.

When my niece was three, I took her to see Sesame Street Live. In the middle of the show, Big Bird’s eye fell off and rolled across the stage. I have weird dreams about my teeth falling out. It really freaks me out.
I couldn't find anything about them falling out, but I did find this:
Teeth
To dream that you have rotten or decaying teeth, forewarns that your health and/or business is in jeopardy. You may have uttered some false or foul words and those words are coming back to haunt you.
To dream that your teeth is gleaming, signifies happiness and fulfilled wishes.
To dream that you are brushing your teeth, refers to your level of confidence, your struggles and your aggressiveness. You need to look out for yourself and your own interest. Perhaps, you feel that your position is shaky.
Wisdom Teeth
To dream about your wisdom teeth, indicates new or emerging knowledge. You are learning something new about yourself. Alternatively, the dream may be telling you to act more smartly about a situation. Make sure to think things through clearly.

I have weird dreams about my teeth falling out. It really freaks me out.
OMG.... Me too!! It seems so real that I wake up in a panic and start feeling for all of my teeth with my finger and/or tongue. This is the meaning I have always heard for this:
"Dreaming of teeth falling out may represent insecurity. These dreams often occur at a time of transition between one phase of life and another. When we lost our milk teeth, we also gradually lost our childhood innocence. Loosing your teeth therefore show that today you have similar feelings of uncertainty and self-consciousness as you did in childhood."

I can tell some types of paper in old books apart by smell... there's a kind of Holland paper that smells like cocoa as it ages and decomposes, for instance.
That's a leftover skill from my best job ever: assistant to a rare book dealer.

My hair is at a real weird stage right now.
It is too long to hold curl.
It is too short to just leave uncurled.
I keep getting the "don't you dare do it" to the idea of a spiral perm.
I wear it in pony tails a lot expecially at work and i'm tired of it.
I just wish it would grow or get curly overnight or get a job or something.

I've lost about 20 lbs over the last year and a half. I've workout all my life for an hour or 2, 4 or 5 times a week. I was encouraged to exercise and participate in sports as a youngster. I always thought I would play on the penn circuit after graduating from college. So, I've always worked out and participated in sports.
Someone invited to play catch football at the park several months ago. I was frickin' huffing and puffing after a chasing down a few balls. I realized how out of shape I am.

I'm a closet Hall & Oates fan. And if you call me out on it in public, I will casually deny it (not vehemently, though; because when you do that it looks like it is true, lol) because <I can't go for that, lmao> I'm far too young and too cool to listen to them, lol. God, I hope no one ever steals my iPod or I'll be humiliated!
I really wish I had an ant farm, except I won't buy one because I think they are inhumane. I just picture all those tiny little consciousnesses imprisoned for the amusement of little kids who don't know any better and adults who just don't care. (Also, I think ant farms generally only contain something like 6 months worth of sustenance so what happens to them once the food runs out?)
Today is weird because I have just enough money for coffee, but not enough gas in my car to go get it (it's within walking distance, but that will be one dang long walk, lol). I get paid later today, so I'm trying to ride it out. I can wait, but having the first coffee of the day in the afternoon isn't the same.
I'm excited for my plans this weekend.

I can talk nonsense for hours. Every morning the first thing Beasley says to me is, "Here we go".
I am simultaneously the nicest and meanest person you'll ever meet.
If I don't see an important person through the day, I will wear the same clothes tomorrow.
I don't eat anything with loaf in the title. No telling what's ground up in it. It gives me a easy-queasy feeling in my stomach.
Beasley will be home soon so I can start talking again.
I hate to grocery shop. I will dislocated both of my shoulders to get all the groceries inside in one trip.
When both my socks match it feel like I've got it going on!
I am a goal-oriented person. Short-term, long-term, mere dreams… I have no direction or sense of purpose without a goal in mind at all times.
The other day I asked my mother what she remembered about me growing up and she said, "Nothing." *L*

Ive lost 20 lbs so far and plan to lose some more.
I love music and listen to 80s New Wave alot. Music is one thing that can always make me feel better or calm me down after a stressful day.
I'm a hopeless romantic that has never even been on a date. Due to severe social anxiety most of my life that made it impossible. After much soul searching and hard work over the last few years I can now say I have slain the anxiety beast , although sometimes it twitches.
I find myself in a constant state of self discovery as of late.
I'm a storyteller a dreamer and sometimes a trickster. Like the time I took the battery out of the price gun at work just to watch my manager yell and search the store for like 15-20 mins until she magically found it under her desk in her office. She spent the rest of the day wondering how it got there because she knows I would never waste time at work like that...right? lol

I'm not as outgoing as I once used to be. My social circle is rather small and I am okay with that.
I like shopping for unique, not so popular styles of clothing and accessories. I actually can't stand popular brands of clothing because I just don't identify with that kind of thing. I like unusual materials, patterns, prints and lean more toward simplicity in style.
That said, I prefer colors like black or shimmering shades of violet, blue and pale shades of pink or rich shades of browns or coral tones. I'm fairly fussy about the color red, too. It has to be a tonal shade that is warm and not too cool.
I love summer, can hardly stand winter these days.
I guess I could go on, but long warm summers, thunderstorms, pearly skies or days of dazzling sunshine make my heart smile.
I also only date people I have come to know in life here at home. Life's too short.
And I've come to see that some clichés aren't too far from the truth. Time really does fly.

I have three sons. The youngest is 22. I also have 3 granddaughters.
I have been "out" for 21 years.
I never weigh myself, however, I do measure my waist, hips, etc regularly.
I am really a free spirit and have come to realize that I cannot deal with people who try to set rules for me or critique' my life.
I will not stay at a job that I don't like and I am rarely worried about getting a new job.
I was a very solitary person after my divorce, I needed and enjoyed it. I am starting to engage life again.
I, recently, went back into business for myself and obtained a few clients. I am at my best when I work for myself.
I left rescue (the think I love the most in this world) for a long time and I am, finally, getting back into it. I am hoping to foster a pregnant mom soon.
I have a huge heart, sometimes too big.
I love who I am and I refuse to allow anyone, ever again, to try to change me. Like me for who I am or move on.
I really love The Planet.

I'm left handed, and my mom had a hell of a time teaching me to tie my shoes when I was little.
I'm the middle child.
My favorite color is blue.
I took piano lessons growing up and played in band.
My favorite music is 80s, but I'm a huge Duran Duran fan. Don't judge me!
I typically like "girly" things - painting my toenails, bubble baths,
baking.
I have a soft spot for animals, and often prefer their company to that of people.
I'm both incredibly loyal and sensitive, and both of those things can get me into trouble.
At one time, I wanted to be a writer.

I'm also left handed. A few years back I was doing research on epigenetics and homosexuality. Several times I read that there is a correlation between the two. They are both epigenetic, as are hazel eyes, which I also have. Whole lotta epigenes up in this body. :cheesy:

Small world! The exact same thing happened to me, except that my hand writing sucks regardless of which hand I use. I attended elementary school back in the mid 60's and was forced to sit with my left hand behind my back, or else suffer a whack on my knuckles with a wooden ruler. Needless to say I was whacked on the knuckles often.
Today, I do most things left handed, with the exception of writing.

Funny to read about all you ambidextrous people, because the same thing happened to me. Except it was my grandparents who forced me to write right handed.
Then I broke my right arm in 6th grade and picked up using my left hand to right real quick. Now I switch off because it confuses people.
I say my eyes are green. But they tend to "change" color depending on what I'm wearing, lighting, etc. But stay within a blue/green/grey range.

Wow, so interesting to see all of the lefties/ambidextrous people here. My parents are both right-handed, but I am left-handed and my two brothers are as well, so I grew up with it feeling pretty normal and no one at school tried to force me to write or do anything else with my right hand. So I am lefty all the way and not ambidextrous- which would be cool but not cool of people to try to force right-handedness!

My mother is left handed. She tried to teach me to knit, and crochet when I was young. eEpic fail! Lol...it took us a while to realize if I sat across from her and copied was the best way. Really , that was the only thing unusual. I never realized any other differences . I suppose we adapt as we go.
Funny though, my two past long time relationships, have been lefties. Then it became a constant, which side to I sit on. ( throw in, I'm very dyslectic about right and left, if you know me, it's a driver turn or a passenger turn. Lol. However, I have a great sense of direction, I can do North, South, East and West) There were always two kinds of scissors.
Now, I'm in a "right" relationship. Nothing has changed, cept I can seat either way :) I guess in my world, it wasn't a big deal.
Oh yeah, I have those ocean blue eyes. Probably the German/French part of me.

I was born with bent Pinky fingers. I love how odd they are. Always have!I wonder if they are just genetically passed or if there are deeper more quantifying reasons? I look a "spitten image" of my dad as she always said, but I have my mother's two bent and identical pinkie finger.s.
