I don't like call waiting, call forwarding, or any of those things because I always end up hanging up on everyone.

Going to our favorite pub on a Sunday morning, splitting the Sunday paper, reading, chatting and drinking coffee over a hot breakfast, then going home for a lazy afternoon.

Going to the bookstore just to browse the books in the isle. Maybe flirt a bit when we pass each other.

Reaching out for hys hand in the middle of the night.

I miss my parents around this time of year. I wish I appreciated them when they were still alive. The older I get, the more I realize how good they were as parents and how much they gave me (not just materially)

Malls, Interstate highways (all secondary roads), stores open for business. The entire Main Street (for several blocks) is boarded up. You go much further down Main and there's Wal-Mart doing a bustling business.

No malls or movie (let alone theater) houses or interstate hwys. or God forbid, a university. Maybe a bookstore? Or someone with education beyond undergraduate or a major other than Agriculture.

No out LGBTQ folks besides us. I walk around here with my moustache and short hair. And Sue...oh, God...She couldn't pass for anything other than Butch, Dominant, Dyke, and in charge of any situation we might find ourselves in.

Guess what I really miss is being in a city.

I went to the salon today, and my hairstylist gave me one of those Aveda oil scalp rubs....but, she did something different today and took it down to my neck for ages, then my shoulders, then lower...I almost cried. It felt so wonderful to be touched by another human being.

It was nurturing that I am unaccustomed to. I felt like a feral cat who was finally getting some human contact.

Y'all got me feeling sad with this thread! I try to be really independent when it comes to relationship stuff, but I guess there's no denying there are some things I miss.

I miss intellectually stimulating conversations, I miss cooking for someone and seeing their face light up when they eat my food, and I miss little gestures like when your partner casually rests their hand on your thigh at a restaurant or guides you in a crowded room with their hand on the small of your back.
