Some kind person.....
I can't remember who, sent me a link to a TED talk
and I have been hooked ever since.
There are hundreds of talks on myriad of subjects
and I easily get lost moving from one talk to another.
Each talk is 18 minutes or less,
though there seem to be more and more 5 minute talks.

I have learned so many wonderful things
and been spurred to imagine so much more
as I see people explore, work and play with life
as it is and life as it could be.

I thought having a thread to share some of our favorites might be fun!

Here is the link to the main page: http://www.ted.com/

If you find something you would like to share please post it!
I can hardly wait to see delights, encourages and inspires you!

I watched this one yesterday. I think it speaks to so much but about the importance of being out so there is not a single story of what gay is, but many, many stories.
For those of us at the Reunion last year, do you remember what meeting all of us did for Mary who had no story of what and who we are?

i LOVE the TED talks! I recently watched the one on the artist that curated a show of 200 different artists with different mediums, but the trick was that it was actually him who created it all.

I also like the one about tying shoes, and the one about making mistakes where the lady tells the story about the "ancient chinese symbol". :)

Gender Violence and "women's issues"-- a male take on things. Worth the watch. I appreciate the Ally work being done.

Jill Bolte Taylor got a research opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: She had a massive stroke, and watched as her brain functions -- motion, speech, self-awareness -- shut down one by one. An astonishing story.
Brain researcher Jill Bolte Taylor studied her own stroke as it happened -- and has become a powerful voice for brain recovery.

From the TED YouTube channel: Writer Andrew Solomon has spent his career telling stories of the hardships of others. Now he turns inward, bringing us into a childhood of struggle, while also spinning tales of the courageous people he's met in the years since. In a moving, heartfelt and at times downright funny talk, Solomon gives a powerful call to action to forge meaning from our biggest struggles.

Warning: Some topics may be a trigger and traumatic.
