Weird food combinations you eat and others cringe at when they see you eating it.
I know I'm not the only one out there, so tell me what you like.

I'll start by sharing a food I've eaten since childhood
Scrambled eggs and maple syrup
My friend's that have seen me eat this, cringe at the sight
I say, don't knock it until you've tried it

It's my mom's fault. All her children eat scrambled eggs like that
In fact, one of my brother's has his children eating them, too
I'm thinking it was passed down from generation to generation in my family

11 hours posted and I'm starting to think I may be the only one willing to tell others I eat a weird combo at breakfast some mornings.

Is there no one else willing to share?

Hmm...weird food combinations huh? Let's see...

My favorite sandwich just has a lot of Duke's mayo, 4-5 pieces of cheese, and a handful of crushed up plain Lay's chips...oh, and on plain white bread.

Also, once in a while I have a bad habit of putting a dill pickle on top of a brownie. (Don't ask. I have no idea where that came from lol)

Thanks Dixie, I don't feel so alone now in my eating habits

Oh and I won't ask, lol

My dill pickles have to be kosher and the only thing I would put them on is a hot dog or eat them right out of the jar

The only thing I think american cheese is good for is grilled cheese sandwiches and never on my burgers

If I had to pick one out, I'd say the whipped cream on yogurt is one I never heard anyone mention until now, Jo.

That actually sounds like something I'd be willing to try since I like my grits on the sweet side with lots of butter.

Back to my childhood, my mom's theory was to make food sweet and her children would eat......well, it worked for a few things, lol

I've had cream of rice cereal with slices banana in it, but trying to picture plain rice and banana, I'd have to add butter, milk, and sugar, so I can call it hot cereal

My favorite shammich is creamy peanut butter, concord grape jelly, with a few thin slices of sharp cheddar cheese, all on wheat bread.

One of my favorite dinners is macaroni and tomatoes. You make some plain old elbow mac, cook it off, toss in a can of stewed tomatoes, heat it through and sprinkle it with shredded cheddar.

Meat is not one of my favorite foods. Somehow, I aquired a taste for Braunschweiger.....I like it with ketsup (heinz of course) and red onions on pumpernickle bread.

I'm very picky about the braunschweiger I eat, and don't eat it very often. I know it's heart attack on bread.

When we were kids, I remember my brother making this twisted up face and saying to me *Do you know what that is??* Just the way he was looking at me and my treasured
braunschweiger I knew I didn't want to know. I still don't!

I'm a big sauce person, so I dip and coat and smear most of my food in one sauce or another. I've found that A-1 with Worcestershire sauce is the most versatile thing to use. I put it on potatoes, almost all meats and even some veggies.

It could be quite bad, but really it's not. There are foods that are muuuuch worse. It's a form of liverwurst and is a spreadable liver sausage.

Exactly! I have acknowledged, even as a kid I was a picky eater to the point of strange. My father would often put cottage cheese into my pasta dishes so I'd get protein. He knew I loved cottage cheese (see strange kid) MMMM.

When I was a kid, I would eat mustard sandwiches - I was never picky about the bread, but it would be either rye or white.
I also liked pickles with mustard on them, right out of the jar. (I still do, but I don't eat them that way any more.)

A comfort food I make every now and then are lima beans with rice.
I don't think it's weird, but I've been told it's strange.

BTW, I've had eggs with maple syrup. It's good, but I don't make that a habit.
Mare likes salsa on Her eggs and passed that tradition on to some of her nieces and nephews.

Love the sweet 'n sour sauce and can dip just about anything, meat...vegetable...other...in it.

I like bologna sandwiches with Cheetos in it, like Snowy does with her fries. I like burgers with fries in it sometimes too, but I'm not picky about the number.

I was out of bread one day and so I used a flour tortilla and put banana and pb and honey on it, rolled it, and warmed it in the oven for a few minutes. Sweet Heaven!

Wouldn't be wierd from where I grew up, but curry chips (i.e. french fries saturated a spicy curry sauce) have always been a massive favourite of mine. As has black pudding / blood sausage.

The other thing that I like to eat is dulse (Irish seaweed), although it's considerably harder to get these days than when I was younger.

OMG! It's not even fair to have to sit here and read this LOL! I so miss the chips with curry sauce and a good cold crunchy onion. Let's keep this just between us, okay?

Some, but by no means all, of my weird eating habits:

Dessert first (preferably Ben & Jerry's Red Velvet Cake ice cream, alongside Entenmann's donuts heated in the microwave).

Dipping potato chips (salt and vinegar please) in cream cheese. Special note: cream cheese must be slightly melted, having been spread in plentiful quantities on toasted everything bagel.

Butter AND cream cheese on a toasted bagel (As a Jew, it's all about the bagels for me.).

Quinoa and Greek yogurt mixed together (a new weird eating habit).

Chopped salami cooked in scrambled eggs (childhood).

Chewing gum and once the flavor runs out adding a candy like a Smarties or Sweethearts to the gum to re-flavor it.

My bro and I have enjoyed buying Junior Mints and hot buttered popcorn at the movies and mixing in the Junior mints with the popcorn so that they are a little melted.

Frying onions and pine nuts and adding them to baked beans.

Microwaving store bought cookie dough on a plate like a pancake so that part of it is soft and part of it is very crispy and then eating it with a fork and dipping it in icing (!).

Diet coke poured over ice cream, because the "diet" makes all the difference, right? :D

One of the eating habits I have is to take my fried eggs and smash the hell out of them with a fork before eating. Everyone who's seen me do this gets really worked up about it since those eggs are usually over easy. Ive eaten them that way since I was about five and don't feel the need to change at this late date. But then I come from a long line of oddball eaters. My dad used to mix honey, butter and peanut butter on a plate and then eat it with a fork and my grandfather would always drink his coffee from the saucer instead of the cup.

Tomato sandwiches with just tomato slices, salt n pepper on the sandwich. Especially awesome when the tomato just came in from the garden and is still warm from the sunshine...

Re the movie popcorn thing.... I like to take in a zippy bag of fruit loops, get my popcorn without the butter, eat a few handfulls of popcorn to make room, dump in the fruit loops and shake it all up to mix 'em in good. The salty sweet combo is something else.

And while we're talking about salty sweetness, on about day 25 of "the month", I go buy a tall jar of toasted sunflower seeds, a half pound bag of m&ms, and mix them all up together...

Im very picky about my steaks. They have to be cooked very, very rare and without any sauce of any kind. I feel like over cooking a steak or putting sauce on it ruins the meat.

I love bbq sauce, Sweet Baby Ray's please!, on my baked potato and mac&cheese.

I absolutely love mushrooms. In just about everything.

I want Tony's seasoning on everything. I love the kick it adds to fries.

I love, love, love crawfish, but I do NOT suck the heads. Down here, some consider that to be weird.

My downfall is carbs. Give me a baked potato and a hot, out of the oven, hunk of bread with butter and i'll wash your car.

I wish there was a carb diet. Not a non carb diet but one that says...

eat all the carbs you want and only carbs and you will lose 5 pounds a week with no exercise.

Yeah...sign me up.

When I was a kid I'd eat only one thing at a time. Bootcamp changed that because if you didn't shove it all in your mouth in about five minutes you really didn't have much to eat at all for the amount of physical activity you were put through. Now, I don't really care, I'll take bites of everything while it's still hot. And that's the way I want it, HOT, not lukewarm, hot.

When I was nursing, I'd take the same frozen dinner to eat every night, I'm not kidding. It didn't bother me one bit. It did, however, seem to perplex the other nurses how I could eat the same thing night after night and not get tired of it. I just told them it was cheap, I liked it, so I ate it. I'm not kidding, for three years I ate General Tso's Chicken and Rice when I worked at the hospital. At home I of course ate something different. Then one day, the flavoring got too spicy and I had to change to a different frozen dinner. And you guessed it, I took that one for a very long time :)

I do not dip my potato chips in dip. I use them to scoop my rocky road ice cream.
Cottage cheese with sugar on it.
I also put A-1 on potatoes. Saved me when I was a vegetarian and craving meat.
Chocolate Coke. Yes, that's Coca Cola with Hershey's syrup in it.
Fry sauce, but that's a regional thing.

I used to dip BBQ potato chips in cottage cheese. Yes it sounds gross, but it's really good!

Not a Texas thing necessarily, but most likely a Southern thing as I did that too growing up in MS.

It was best mixing the egg, grits and bacon together and then smearing it on a piece of buttered toast and rolling the toast up like a burrito. Yum.

I like sour cream & onion chips and a slice of cheese on my egg salad sandwiches. I also like spaghettio-sandwiches (which don't require any chips). I also like fried egg sandwiches, crunchy peanut butter & honey sandwiches, and grilled cheese with bacon sandwiches.

I love Sriracha sauce on everything, is that weird? Not cereal though. So, I guess I lied.
