I called BlueCross/BlueShield. They helped me find another wound care specialist ... one who has incorporated pain management into his program. I cannot believe I allowed that jackass (previous doctor) to dig out, scrape this hole in my shin without some strong painkillers. Then allow him to send me home with nothing for the guaranteed 2 to 3 days pain after he does that. There is nothing admirable in letting him have at it multiple times knowing what would happen to me in the office and continue a few days later. Plain stupid!

My first appointment with this new doc is this upcoming Thursday. I mean I really interrogated two of his nurses about pain. I feel confident the new doc won't let me suffer so needlessly.

At the present time, all my needs are met. Finished mowing the lawn about 5:30 and fed the my canine babies. Took a shower, then ate two tomato sandwiches, one cheese sandwich with kosher dill sammich slices, two fresh full ears of corn on the cob I nuked ... all with three large milks. I am in my jammies, have my thickest socks on turned inside out with soft house shoes. I laid out sunscreen this morning ... remembered to use it around 4:30. :( Needless to say my face and ahoulders are red but will be tan by morning.

Wait, there is one thing I need ... Roy Scheider's one liner from Jaws movie popped into my mind. Remember when he said, "we need a bigger boat."

Hi Everyone

I live in the Gulf Coastal area. Actually, a couple hundred miles inland. Our temperatures, like many of yours, have been unusually low for a long time now.

I am experiencing a problem which is worsening. I believe it is weather related. It is becoming more and more painful as time goes on.

My inner thighs have become chafed (chapped) ... yesterday, they hurt something fierce. I did not want to go to work because I did not want to put on pants but of course I had to go. When I got home after work, the first thing I did was take off my khakis and put on some loose jersey pajama bottoms. Then I got the bright idea to rub lotion on them. I am not a lotion person so I had to dig around pretty deep to locate the only lotion I have ---->>> the lotion name is Mane 'n Tail Hoofmaker. It is probably 6 + years old. I remember someone telling me to buy it but cannot remember what it was supposed to specifically help. Anyway, I squirted a generous amount into my hands, gently rubbed it on my inner thighs. Not wise of me. They immediately turned an even brighter red and the burning pain continues to be over the top even now. Of course I washed off the lotion as soon as I realized I had goofed up but the damage was done. Who could know?

Should I go buy Baby Oil or Petroleum Jelly or what? Has anyone had this happen to them before? If so, please tell me what works best.

I have the same thing going on with my hands too, especially the tops but am able to pretty much ignore their pain.

I have never had this happen before now and am clue-free on how to help myself get better.

I live in the Gulf Coastal area. Actually, a couple hundred miles inland. Our temperatures, like many of yours, have been unusually low for a long time now.

I am experiencing a problem which is worsening. I believe it is weather related. It is becoming more and more painful as time goes on.

My inner thighs have become chafed (chapped) ... yesterday, they hurt something fierce. I did not want to go to work because I did not want to put on pants but of course I had to go. Try Cerave cream. It comes in a white plastic jar. It's very gentle on sensitive skin and was recommended by a Dermatologist for my daughter's eczema when she was a baby. I use it when my hands get cracked and irritated and it doesn't burn. It's a little pricy but it's good stuff. I would also find some softer pants to wear temporarily if possible. Hope this helps. 😊

Thanks so much EnchantedNightDweller. I GOOGLED the Cerave cream for Babies and found the closest place I can buy it. That is what I will buy this morning.

Also, I certainly appreciate the person's help who left the rep comment and recommended the Petroleum Jelly and cornstarch. I will be picking up these two items as well.

Requested revisions and/or justifications from our Medical Director regarding proposed new protocols, to do themselves. Thankfully it's not too many, but we worked on these for months and were diligent with making them clear and concise so it's a little frustrating. At least she didn't reject them as a whole, she just wants some revisions to a few, and justification on a few others, before she allows us to implement them. We're so close, yet so far away. I'm going to need copious amounts of coffee, patience, and focus.
