I was really surprised that Casey was in the bottom 3 last night. I don't think he "wowed" us like Simon says, but I thought the young gals loved him. I'm glad Tim left, but I admit, he did improve the last few weeks.
Crystal is simply amazing. I would be totally surprised if she does not win it all, and if she doesn't, then I know someone will offer her a record contract, as she is too good to not share her talents with the world.

I think you are right Arwen. All in all, I'm sure it was an honor for all of them to be in the top ten, etc. Now, is when they have to show their true talents, because more is expected of each of them. I enjoy watching it. :)
Doesn't Top 10 have to perform at different cities for a Year by contract?

And he wasn't all that funny. His comments to Ellen made no sense. Even she looked at him like he had two heads.
Oh, and I'm from KY. They found the worse stereotype in the region and paraded her in front of the cameras... .trailer, dirt, and 4 kids. And to top it off Jennifer Garner crying . Urgh. Did anyone notice the kids bikes laying rotting in the yard. Nice way to treat your possessions. BUt I guess with all those Hollywood do gooders hanging around there's plenty more "stuff" on the way.

I think most of us would agree with the fact that this year's group is missing a LOT of stuff.....it's like this might be the "off year" where talent is concerned.....
There's certainly no Adam Lambert this year.....no dynamic, drop~your~jaw performances.....nothing much original. It has been disappointing to me, too.

Idol has helped create some fabulous stars - Carrie Underwood and Clay Aiken are still two of my favourites. Adam Lambert is fantastic, and unfortunately his concerts up here were sold out before I even knew he was coming. lol
I adored Janis Joplin, and I think Crystal has that same kind of voice. She may not have glitz and stage presence, but I will be buying her first CD.
I think American Idol is far better than Canadian Idol. But, I have a soft spot for Americans :stillheart:

This has been a low excitement season thus far for me too. I'll miss Simon terribly next year. If it truly sucks greasy grimey donkey balls next season, I'm bailing on the show.

I agree with you both. Does anyone else find it a bit ironic that Mike got booted at the same time in the competition that Chris Daughtry did and that Daughtry performed last night? I think it's a sign of big things to come from the big guy.

I was never a fan of Daughtry either.
No one has done as well as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Well, I guess Chris has done well (I looked it up...) but clearly I didn't know because I'm not a fan ;)

Clay Aiken has done well but I don't follow him. Fantasia has a reality show now, but I don't follow her anymore because I can't stand the show. Adam's beginning to do pretty well.

And I agree with Diva. At this point, 2nd place is better. :) In my Tarot post on who was going to win, here is what I said about Lee's journey on AI.
Lee Dewyze gets the Death card. Gosh darn it. Before anyone gets their boxers in a bunch, this does NOT mean that Lee is going to die. It means that he is going to have to change and in some fairly significant ways. It won’t be easy and I actually do not think he will make it to the final four. I believe he will be an early out. Pout. Another fave! Then again, the rising from the ashes could mean he’ll be saved at least once.
I said Crystal would be in the top four and Big Mike. My other two were Katie and Siobhan (totally based on the cards, grin.)
Crystal Bowersox gets the 8 of Wands. Now here is a card of fast movement and action. It can predict travel but also is about passion and energy. I have to admit that Crystal is one of my personal faves. I really wanted to see her get one of the aces but the 8 of Wands is a very powerful card for someone on a rising path.
I love doing this because it is pure speculation. Fun to watch the season and see if I was close.

I mean they don't get rights to the songs etc.??
Anywho, if AI is paying them on this schedule, then they do have some sort of say on their content, I suspect. I saw very little difference between ranked 1 or 2 actually.

I've been thinking (I know, I know...but it *does* happen!) and I'm not too worried about Crystal's album, no matter whether she wins or takes the runner up prize. Simon has said all season that it's refreshing to see someone who doesn't sell out and that she's such an individual, ect. I'm sure that the masterminds behind the hoopla know she couldn't and won't pull off a teeny bopper, look at my new boobs and bleached hair routine. She's authentic and I think she'll hold fast to her ideals. Simon's company still has something to do with the AI kids, even with him going to the X Factor, I think.
I'm very glad that the top two turned out liked I hoped it would. :thumbsup:

Well...again.....I can't say that I'm surprised. I mean really......Lee's first release is a COVER? And a boring one at that.
And I really believe that Crystal will shoot up like a rocket now! Lee will fade into the night, like the dozens of voices who have before him....who sounded just like him.

I believe that Lee had the teen vote where Crystal did not. She had the older [Janis Joplin base] vote.....and probably not enough of us watch AI. When I voted [3 times] I had no problem getting through, and it was immediately after the show was over. Odd.
So, as I said before, even though she 'lost' the "title", it's no big deal, because in the long run, it will be Crystal who gets the 'tiara' [recording success]. She's got the talent and the quirk factor.

In all fairness, I suppose they could have had former engagements, but you would think they would have figured out a way. Was very odd to me as well.

Actually, David Cook was performing for a charity event ~ a cancer organization he supports from having lost his brother last year (or the year before) to cancer.
Adam Lambert has been put on vocal rest. And in the singer's world, "vocal rest" is like a form of 'death'......it's very difficult to do without total seclusion.

Yeah....the teeners loved him....that's not a bad thing.
I'm not sure how the thing can be rigged....I think that card's played when someone's 'fave' doesn't win....but that's just human nature, yes?

I'm disappointed that Crystal didn't win. I thought Lee was good, but Crystal was great, IMHO. That said, I knew she wouldn't get it. As Diva said, her appeal is to a different audience. I don't think it's rigged, but I would like to see the voting process changed a bit. On "America's Got Talent," there are limits to the number of times you can vote from the same phone or by the same method. I think that would even it out a bit, and be more of a reflection of the actual support vs who has the stamina to stay up until midnight, hitting the redial button.
And it's also ok to disagree.....and have our own theories....that's what this thread is all about....

This is the best possible outcome. Lee needs the structure that the record company will give him. He's still growing and coming out of his shell.
Crystal doesn't need any handling, really. She's ready to go now. Being 'runner up' means she'll have a little more freedom in terms of producing her music.
I enjoy both of them immensely.

I thought so, too. But, I was kind of relieved when she didn't. :)
I read online that Adam Lambert was scheduled to be on but he never showed up for rehearsal. So they quickly wrote him off.

Cool? Eh. I felt bad for the guy because the choreography was too fast for him and he had to deal with William Hung and then that jerk pulled his Kanye moment a little later.
I hate to say it, but for most of the show, I was bored with the performances and/or embarrassed for people. :blink:

Well it wasn't someone's opinion. It was on the news online. So......yep.....I believe it. It also said what Diva said about David Cook.....that he was doing a cancer benefit. :raspberry:
