iS YOUR CAR ON THE TODAY'S CURRENT LIST FOR AIRBAG SHRAPNEL EXPLOSION? PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO MORE AND MORE UPDATES IN THE NEWS. THE LIST HAS GROWN FROM 3.6 MILLION TO OVER 7 MILLION CARS AFFECTED BY TAKATA INDUSTRIES FAULTY AIRBAGS. MULTIPLE LISTINGS OF MANUFACTURERS AND DATES ARE AFFECTED. IF YOUR CAR IS ON THIS LIST, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR MAIL, A RECALL LETTER SHOULD BE ISSUED TO YOU AND TAKE YOUR VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WILL DISABLE AIRBAGS UNTIL REPLACEMENT IS AVAILABLE. THE AIRBAGS IN THESE CARS ARE CAUSING DEATH AND SERIOUS INJURIES, DUE TO METAL EXPLODING FROM THE CANISTER THAT INFLATES THE AIRBAG, FLYING THROUGH THE AIR WHEN THEY ARE INFLATED.
NATIONAL HEALTH AND TRAFFIC SAFETY ASSOCIATION (NHTSA) IS URGING OWNERS TO TAKE VEHICLES IN TO DEALERS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. YOU CAN CHECK SAFERCAR.GOV (NHTSA'S WEBSITE FOR MORE UPDATES, BUT LATELY THE SITE ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY, YOU CAN ALSO DO A VIN LOOKUP THERE TO CHECK TO SEE IF YOU CAR HAS ANY RECALLS NOT PERFORMED ON IT, ONCE THE SITE IS WORKING AGAIN. ) OTHERWISE JUST CHECK THE NEWS NIGHTLY, IT'S CHANGING DAILY ON NUMBERS OF CARS AND MANUFACTURERS INVOLVED.
HERE IS A LINK TO THE LATEST LIST AS OF 10/22/2014:

ABC evening news just reported that if your car is on the recall list and your dealer does not have a replacement airbag, they are going to put a sticker across your dashboard stating:

Do not sit in the passenger seat until the airbag is replaced.

WTF!

They have also said some dealers will disable the airbag as well. The canister that inflates the airbag is the culprit that is exploding and sending metal pieces (shrapnel) flying into the air when the airbags are deployed. This shrapnel is what is injuring people and causing deaths. It is advised to take to dealer right away, according to NHTSA website.

These are NOT just American cars here in the US, these are calls that are from other countries as well. I'm pretty sure the way this is going, it's going to be worldwide recall according to VIN number. This is going to make GM's ignition and key recall look small....just saying.
