Howard Zinn, 87, and J.D. Salinger, 91, die

Both of these great writers -- one of history and one of fiction -- died today. I never read Catcher in the Rye but have heard of how good it is. Zinn, however, I have read and it dismays me that someone who was able to write about US history in the view point of something other than that of the conqueror is now gone. Hopefully there will be others just as eloquent.

I just heard this on CNN. I am truely saddened by the news, but know that each one lived a good, full life.
