For all those, young and old, a buyers guide to all things "butch". I'll start it off by saying I lost weight and need a new set-up. I can't remember where the h*ll I bought anything! I use either small briefs or the "shorts" type harness... any suggestions?

We ordered this bike short harness not too long ago for Jess...
http://wildhearts.com/spandexbikestrapon.aspx
Hy's been rather pleased with it. They also have good prices on Vixskins if you are in the market.
We had a size problem (shorts) with the first shipment - they pulled and sent the wrong size. They also didn't overnight the shipment as we had paid for. When I called, the overnight shipping was refunded and the correct size short was overnighted before I returned the wrong one. I was very pleased with their response and customer service.

It is pretty comfortable, but if you're bigger, beware because it doesn't tighten up that well. Go smaller on it. I wish I had bought the smaller version.

I got the large. According to the chart I could have gone with either size and didn't have a problem tightening it for me, but smaller one might have worked for me too. I think it's very comfortable and it does stretch so probably the small would work for most who fit within that size waist range they recommend.
Maybe I'm old school, but I've long been a fan of the Terra Firma for sexual activities. I recently bought a very comfortable harness for packing, and it was fairly inexpensive. It's called the Undercover Harness on the babeland site. I pack with the Goodfella, and this harness works great, and is easily the most comfortable I've used. I took at a look at the Spareparts harness, but I prefer to, um...wear my balls outside the harness. The Spareparts harness doesn't really allow for that. But it did look really comfortable.

Aslanleather.com is pretty good. They're the makers of much of the leather stuff you see on other sites, anyway.
The jaguar (http://www.aslanleather.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_32&products_id=164&osCsid=5194a179ea6ddb69b853e947d9472603)is a nice one.
Hack, the spandex harness that Christie posted up higher seems to allow for balls out, although, I think aesthetically speaking, I like the one Kimbo linked to (but that's just me.)
I just bought the same packing harness you did but haven't worn it yet. How do you like it?

I find it to be quite comfortable if I remember to wear it low. I have a tendency to want to "hitch" everything up. lol But I if I just wear it low, where it naturally sits, it is easy to wear. The times I've tried to wear it higher made everything feel...askew...if you know what I mean. ;)

Bully- I love this model. It is great for those of us that just don't like the feel (and smell) of leather. I find it to be very comfortable, easy to clean and no problems with control. And my comment has nothing to do with anyone's style of sexuality. LOL.... and the sound of cinching and uncinching can be a great post-sex conversation starter! :lol2:
Thinking about the royalties on the terra-firma... used one for a long time and remember when it was practically the only made! Really glad to see harnesses out now that are not made from leaather, though. Feel like I have a choice.

Are you using the vixskin Goodfella? I find it a bit to em, firm for everyday packing. Great for fucking , anal and blow jobs... not so much for packing. At least for me.
The shorts type harness Christie linked does allow for balls out.
Still looking for the perfect pack and play ( for me).
Do we have a fashion thread? Or can we use this space for that also?
Need to find some clothing sites that offer well rounded apparel. Casual, dress, etc for folks my age. I will wear some clothes that are fairly youthful, but at 46 , I don't tend to like a lot of today's styles.

We got some good deals at Mens Warehouse, and they didn't bat an eye that it was a Butch that wanted a suit for his wedding. Also got a really nice leather jacket and a cashmere pullover sweater there, the ties were off the hook, and by g-d they sell shoes in my size. They even had really nice shirts, all with custom tailoring. I highly recommend them.

I have used these shorts too, and although the snap problem makes sense (and is a good point of caution), my partner (ex) never said this was a problem for her.
However, again, I am a big Terra Firma fan, so I was never using these shorts on a regular basis with a partner.

Can you help a butch out? I've used the terra firma for years and always ben very happy with it. I've had a harder time finding a harness or strap to pack with. I'd like to check out the Undercover Harness mentioned here, but when I put toys in babeland in my search the freaking store doesn't come up. Can slomeone send me the link, either to the store or to this product?
Thanks!

hey jesse...i agree we need a fashion thread. i am 35 and when i shop for a little nicer casual clothing i go to structure for men. their clothes are geared for those who want to dress a little trendy...but they also have a good collection of more classic and essential clothes. and don't give up on the thrift stores...i always find good stuff there.

as for shopping tho... i end up with all the same tired stuff...
hell... i know i am getting old... been doing the madras thing lately... thinking too about starting to blouse and roll my sleeves... like gpa used to...
so... i know i gotta do somethin soon....
tho...i gotta admit... i do like a ducktail... and penny loafers... so... helll... maybe i will stay with my aesthetic... least til something better comes along...
i am personally glad it is winter... i can do a lot more with layers... that way i can just keep removing them until i feel like i am right for the room...

I am by no means a slave to fashion but I think I dress well.
For daily wear I sport either a navy or black t-shirt underneath a solid color long sleeve shirt, jeans, and sneakers.
For dressy occasions I wear pressed black dress slacks, most often followed by a crisp white shirt and black dress shoes.

This may be unrelated and if so I apologize, but I wanted to share a link for those that bind/would like to bind but don't want to dish out a lot of money.
https://www.gc2b.co/
I came across this brand by reading an article where someone had tested low-cost binders and provided feedback. These can be purchased through Amazon and they're roughly $30/$35 with tax. Sometimes Amazon runs out of stock but it doesn't generally take too long to restock, although I do not think that they stock all colors/sizes. We had to exchange once for a different size and it was a breeze.
My partner wears one and says it is awesome - comfortable enough to wear all day (even wore it through laser tag) but wouldn't suggest working out in it. It can be done if it is lower impact (i.e. we just did thirty minutes on a bike, nothing excessive or high impact) but you obviously want to be cautious with exerting yourself and the pressure on your lungs/chest.
He wears the half-tank, it has wider straps and is designed like a tanktop, and no lines are visible if worn under a tanktop and then under a shirt. We have not tested it by itself under a t-shirt, but I think it would still look fine. It compresses well and allows him to wear a t-shirt in public comfortably and, also important, confidently. He says it is not any more heat-inducing than wearing a t-shirt, and when he sits he hasn't noticed it rolling up/having to adjust it or pull it down upon standing.

I prefer shorts or jeans with t-shirts over khakis and Polo's all the time these days. Work attire to me is so not personable, it's like you dress to impress not based on your work or how well you do your work.

My wardrobe, other than scrubs..... one pair of baggy jeans, one pair of dickies type pants in grey I never were, two henleys, three t shirts that don't fit, a jeep tank, anthr tank that doesn't fit right (doesnt cover my chest), and some camping cloths that are too stained to wear in public. And a sweater.
I am a traveler so I have to keep it minimal, but every single date I've been on in the last two months I've had to wear the same jeans, one of the two henleys or the sweater. And BTW the only reason I own the henleys is I LITERALLY had nothing decent for our first date... so I bought them.
I think my best bet is to try buy online from a men's plus size store that has a good return policy.
Has anyone out there found a pair of plus sized slim fit jeans they like? Not too tight, just tapered so they'd look good with a nice pair of shoes...

He says it is not any more heat-inducing than wearing a t-shirt, and when he sits he hasn't noticed it rolling up/having to adjust it or pull it down upon standing.
I came back because someone repped me, and can now add that the binder is not seen under t-shirts.

When I do I will definitely post to everyone about it.

The binder works perfectly for me. Keeps me pretty flat and doesn't roll up and is easily tucked in as well.
If I lose more weight I may have to go to smaller size binder.

I've had the same bi-fold, leather wallet that my dad gave me for the last 15 years, it has his company logo on the front. It doesn't have any noticeable wears or anything, so I never had to replace it. It's been good to me.

I have like 6 wallets, all of them have wear on them, 2 are big rodeo wallets, 4 are trifolds.
I really want this one rodeo wallet but its insanely expensive so I may ask for it for birthday or Christmas.

I also must confess to being grossly misled by the title of this thread. :)
I got two cool looking work shirts from Land's End, on sale for $19.99 each. They were originally $44. I got black and navy blue--the fabric is strong but smooth and the pockets have hidden double pockets under the button flaps.
I just checked and they have some remaining in very large sizes. Navy, khaki and charcoal.
These shirts will last 30 years because they are so sturdy and well made. Even the elbows are double lined. And yes, they are very butch looking.:fastdraq:

If you buy from Dxl or destinations xl which is a big men's store, it's pricey but worth it on undershirts and underwear even shirts. Only issue i have is length, its hard to find a 28 or 29 inseam.
