i saw some tiny droplets on my windshield, which resembled rain while at lunch

I got up early on this rainy day to take the dogs for a hike before work...

Not long after getting there, I saw a large bird fly up into the trees ahead.

I picked up tiny 7lb Bitsy thinking it was a hawk. When we got under the tree where the bird was it flew up and I could see that it was actually an owl!

I was so darn excited! I hadn’t seen an owl in years. I started making “who cooks for you” calls since I’m certain it was a great horned. But it never answered. Still, VERY cool beans!

Yesterday, after coming home from the best brunch ever, the heavy rain that came down, the speed of the windshield wipers, and puddles of water!

I then see a huge tree branch laying across two cars. I had a conversation with the owner of one and said, I hope there is no damage. I turned to my brunch partner and say, wow..I usually park here. THEN..I realized, I was that second car!!!

Whew..no damage to either of us.

I saw an incredibly ornate caste iron urinal on a pathway under the Sydney Bridge...in great shape...unfortunately, no place for women to pee discretely. It's been there since 1840s or so and is up kept beautifully. I don't think the Victorians figured women peed.

I read a novel set in 1700s Paris and there was a guy called Tosspot who would hang out on the main streets with a contraption where a curtain was attached to a round thing and attached to poles. When people had to go, Tosspot would usher them into the tiny space, where a large pot sat. He'd close the curtain and wait. They would emerge, pay him a few francs, then he'd take the full pot and dump in into the Seine.

I love it when deer visit! Even though I'm on a busy state road, next door is a field and deer wander over from there from time to time. In the winter, it's so pretty to see their hoof prints in the snow.

Speaking of animals, I have a couple nice shots of a ground hog hanging out on the front lawn. He was so cute!

I took a leisurely drive out to the country to visit with a friend, who is dealing with her leg in a knee brace.

The drive was oh so relaxing. Green pastures, cotton almost ready to be picked and little calves running thru the grass behind their mothers. The sky was painted, white and grey with blue peeking thru. It made me forget I live so close to the big city.

Now, I see a pile of summer clothes that need to be folded up and put under the bed in those long boxes ...well, maybe tomorrow??

A friend and I drove down to Assateague Island National Seashore and saw so many wild horses roaming freely. They were absolutely beautiful to see. We then walked on the beach and watched some surfers. I really love the beach when there is a rough surf, chill in the air, and lots of wind.

This stork, which I researched, is a wood stork. It came meandering up the street and stopped at my driveway. Both Jellybean and I were in awe. It probably was at least 3-4 feet tall. It was a big bird. Googled..and it has a wing span of 5 feet. When it turned its head, the eye was huge. Very interesting to see this afternoon.
