What did you SEE today???

i took a 500 mile road trip today and really took on the sights... i’ll post a few things that i saw, and ask you , what did you see today??


Old Farms with amazing red roof barns
a *Confederate Cotton Museum* sign
a bumper sticker that said *i have an awesome kid!*
an old Ford Falcon (my dream car)
two butches and one femme
beautiful black cows, grazing.. all facing one direction
miles and miles of purple Wisteria.

sand in my shoes

the Atlantic Ocean

I see all of the "things", books, our great grandma's antique furniture and sister's military medals/honors in my sister's livingroom...(I was barely able to leave the room today).... her collections are interesting and if you know her, they tell a story of her travels.

Having a view out the window, I see distant mountains, spring flowers and many happy, colorful, spring song birds.

Wow. What a list! It was a pretty day here in Florida, and I did get out, which doesn't happen every day. But I can't think of any particular sight that grabbed my attention. I need to be more in the moment. Right now the windows are open. I only see the dark, but I hear the chirping of the insects and smell the fresh Gulf air. I miss living on the water where you could practically taste the sea. But even a few miles inland, the air smells like ocean. I love that.

Yesterday..... I saw nothing but blue skies for miles and miles, chem-trails across the skies as planes made their way for an airport landing, an old penny lying on the sidewalk, and children giggling as they huddled to play Hide-n-Seek.

Today....Easter Sunday.... we have pearly skies, and I can see the trailing wisps of smoke rising from the neighbor's chimney across the street. And, I saw a flock of birds, winging it on the air thermals from pine tree to pine tree, the air dense with their birdsong.

I saw a tiny house. I actually went in and saw 283 sq ft.. it was bigger than you could image. The high ceilings and lofts at each end gave it so much more space.

I saw a pile of wood that will become a huge bon fire next weekend!

I saw an incredibly ornate caste iron urinal on a pathway under the Sydney Bridge...in great shape...unfortunately, no place for women to pee discretely. It's been there since 1840s or so and is up kept beautifully. I don't think the Victorians figured women peed.

Today soon as I stepped of the elevator, I saw my team of African-American nurses at my doctor's office. They always make me feel so good, I love every one of them! And they make me feel special. too. They all came over and became really chatty, all smiles and hugs. I really needed all their cheerfulness and affection today.

I was tested again for diabetes. The test was negative just like a year ago.They are making me an appointment with a neurologist. Seems I am experiencing symptoms of neuropathy. I never heard of that ailment until now. Also have to go back and see the wound care doctor. Not the jackass one but the sweet one. I have another hole in my leg. The left one this time, inside calf.

I am so ready to correct all this and forget it. And I will. :)

I saw thick fog and lovely grey skies (not facetious....it's quite pretty), two sleepy kitties followed by two playful kitties followed by two curious kitties followed by two funny kitties....aka my two cats, a hardy breakfast, some TV and more fog.

I saw a corgi mix pup running along the fence line and two sandhill cranes on my ride today.

I saw my blood sugar reading early this morning (101), then I gazed at the skyline to the west and saw a patch of blue sky peeking through the pearly gray skies.

I also saw the neighbor's cat walking stealthily across the backyard, probably sneaking up on a bird, which was sitting quietly on the limb of an pine tree.

Now, to go look at my hair and make it look better (lol). :eyebat:

I see my 21 year old kitty taking a turn for the worse. She has followed me everywhere. We both started on the beach in So Cali. We shared the house with foster kids, sleepovers, scorpions, squirrels and birds in the dryer.

She has climbed into my lap, on the bed, followed me around and listened to all my stories. She has also chatted back and forth with me.

Many smiles and lots of purring. I see her not far away from me now...but I know it's not for long now.

A ton of things but my favorites were: On Monday night we did a paint and sip (with pizza and cokes) for the residents where I work. I left before it was over and then had two luxurious days off. When I was leaving the drugstore this afternoon, I saw a mama duck and 10 adorable little ducklings about to cross a busy 4-lane road just as the light was turning green. I was able to block two of the lanes with my car and then hold up the cars going the other direction. Folks were looking at me like I was crazy until they saw the babies. I guess that was my good deed for the day. :)

Sort of breaking the rules as I didn’t see this today but last week......sorry but too freaky imo not to mention.

There were two snakes outside in a gutter of sorts that is sitting right over the front door. Freaked me the f*ck out! Two! I have a covered porch and it’s a good bit off the ground and it’s against the house and I know snakes can get anywhere but they got all the way up there without me noticing and that freaks me out too.

The houses here are sort of close together. Found out in the span of a couple weeks there have been 8 that have been talked about between me and another couple of homes. Worried about some infestation happening. Horror movie type shit. Not cool. I hate them.

And the 2 snakes.... yeah.... RIP.

This happened today when I went outside for a walk. I noticed a bird's nest waayyyyyy on the tippy top of a light post and the nest fit perfectly on top. The mama bird was flying back and forth between there and a grove of trees that might have had seeds or something? on them that she was feeding her babies.

It was really cool even the mere fact of how it fit perfectly on top of that light post.

Then I watched a movie called The Mountain Between Us..... which reminded me of another movie I watched last year Wind River. Beautiful sweeping panoramic filmography. Graduating seniors mark this transition in their lives by leaving something of themselves behind; namely, their shoes.

Kids do it just because it’s fun. And besides, what else are you going to do with a worn-out pair of sneakers other than tie the laces together and toss them high? Kids will be kids.

Well apparently "shoe tossing" - as Wikipedia calls it - is a thing:

I live in a little town of 800 people. If there are gangs I am blissfully unaware. Don't think someone would announce they were selling drugs that way out here because it would be way too obvious but who knows. There are kids that live around here so it could very well be their shoes.

Also, a few sheets of lined paper heavily marked up with messy but legible handwriting, arrows, stars, asterisks, bullet points and underlined, circled and yellow highlighted text...

I am seeing goats and sheep wandering in pasture, turkeys going about their business, chickens making a tour around the outside of the house, cats stretched out sleeping on the deck, guinea fowl parading in a row stopping every now and again to honk at their loudest to each other- all of this under a beautiful Sun with a cool breeze blowing and temps much lower than yesterday.

Oh, and baby chicks in their little "temp" home. Today we are going to build a fenced in small circular area so we can bring them out and start letting them get acquainted with the outside.

It was so mysterious looking, with all the clouds surrounding it, yet it was an blue and white scale, in silvery shades, that made it seem so mysteriously beautiful.

I see a strange bruise on my foot, it's been there a few days.

I was moving a heavy ass table from my sales floor, to be hidden in a dressing room. Well, it just doesn't fold up and easily slide thru the doorway. Lol. You need to tip it on its side. Wiggle and twist it , back and forth. Then turn it back up once inside the dressing room, which already has two other tables in it. Anyway, as it got twisted in what little room I had, down it goes on my foot.

A have a perfect dollar size strip across my foot. A diagonal bruise from my pinky toe to the big toe. Weirdest bruise ever!

Looking up into a cloudy, starless, night, sky, I see strato cumulus storm clouds in the West, with a bright, waxing crescent moon, and the lovely planet Venus. Due South I see Jupiter shining brightly along with the amazing red planet Mars. I also see several Indiana brown bats, and many lightening bugs.

I saw (and heard) all of the turkey and chicken hatchlings look up at me as I walked into their area and then the chirping noises commenced.

I also saw Myra (the mother of the baby sheep Isabella that was killed a couple of days ago) mourn the loss. That might sound weird. However, I have been around these animals long enough that I know when they are feeling a particular way - by how they look and sound. My heart breaks for her.

I saw a guy flip out and try to start a fight with me. Ugh.

I had just got back to town and I pulled out of the parking lot behind a row of cars. The light turned green and we all drove forward. The guy in front of me turned down the same side street that I always use. Suddenly he wiped his truck to the far left jerking the truck and then turned like he was going to turn around so I waited for him then he backed up really fast into a driveway. I waited a minute incase he pulled back out but he didn't so I went on down the street. He jumped out of his truck only wearing shorts and stood in the middle of the road watching me until I turned. I could see anger on his face. I felt like he wanted to fight me. Road rage? Druggy? Drunk? Jerk? Mistaken Identity? I have no idea but I don't want to run into him again.

I say many things. However, the most exciting, yet worried one- was ANOTHER baby Duck being born!!!

The worry part is that I got super attached to the first one- and he/she did not end up making it. I am trying to not get attached to this one. But, it is hard. I believe in the natural order of things- one dies, another is born, but still. But, rest assured I will give it just as much love as I do all the other hatchlings.

Couple of days ago, I noticed a small purple "bruise" on my big toe, under it sort of. Today, I noticed it is bigger, and the second toe is also purple. Now if this were a "bruise" it would have turned other colors. It doesn't hurt, BUT I have marching orders to get it seen tomorrow, so back to the clinic I will go....:(.

This morning at 4 a.m. as I snaked around the country roads, there was something in the road with its butt to me. I slammed on breaks and realized it was a beautiful German Shepherd. He had something in his mouth that looked like a mouth full if sticks. I blew the horn a few times and he didn't move so I started rolling toward him and suddenly he was like oh shit that's a truck and I'm in the road...he ran off down a driveway. To pretty to be running loose. He must have escaped his dog pen.

Fast forward 20 minutes and right smack dab in the middle of town a coyote ran across the 4 lane highway from the KFC across to the BP. I bet he was in the trash at the KFC. I've never seen one in the middle of town.

I saw a lil old guy at the gym this morning. The older guys with no workout clothes always make me grin when I see them in their polo shirts and walking shorts, belts, knee socks and boat shoes. Very New England!

I also saw adorable kitties begging for food this morning. One of which has consistently followed me around the house this morning. What can I say? She wuvs me. <3

I saw the adorable kitties cleaning the shower after I was done. Why they enjoy the water off the walls so much, I'll never know, but it's why I now make sure to splash water everywhere so there's no soap left for them to consume and, eventually, get diarrhea from.
