Good evening everyone
I would do fried chicken and biscuits, but that would be a bit too much like the chicken fricasse of last night.
Hmmmm....how about a nice roast? That will go with biscuits...especially with gravy made from the pan drippings to sop up. And, of course, a nice fresh green salad...gotta get those greens!
Dessert is gonna' be hot fudge sundaes...just because I'm craving one!

I make an awesome hot fudge sauce...real whipped cream...toasted peanuts...maraschino cherries
Hi Incubus,
Biscuits are easy. There are lots of different variations, but here's a basic recipe:
Stir together 2 cups flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, and 1 tsp. salt. You want to make sure the salt and baking powder are thoroughly mixed in now, cuz you won't stir much later.
Cut in 6 Tbsp. shortening with a fork or pastry cutter. I use butter-flavored Crisco or regular butter. Cut it in enough to look like fine crumbs.
Stir in 2/3 cup milk. Don't overstir...just enough to moisten the mixture completely.
Turn out onto a floured board and knead lightly for a minute. Over-kneading will make the biscuits tough.
You can roll these out and cut with biscuit cutter (or the mouth of a water glass) if you want round biscuits...or pat into a rectangle and cut into 10 or 12 squares.
Put on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees F for 10 - 12 minutes until golden brown.
If you want to try some variations, you can stir in about 1/2 cup of cooked, crisp, crumbled bacon.....or 1/2 grated cheddar cheese.....or 2 tsp. of dry herbs of your choice....or 1/4 tsp. curry powder....or some combination of the above.
Be aware....if you use buttermilk instead of sweet milk, you need to decrease leavening to 2 tsp. baking powder and add 1/4 tsp. baking soda.
Enjoy!
