I don't usually do these but since it's
yours.
What name do you go by?
Jess, although it's not my real name. It has to do with my last name.
How old are you?
51. No, wait. That must be 41.
Where were you born?
Guernsey County, Ohio.
What is your greatest fear?
I can't think of one. That seems kind of weird.
What is your earliest memory?
I can't think of one. How can you tell it's your earliest??.
What is your most embarrassing moment?
I have this close friend who was pregnant. For some reason, she just always looked terrible when she was pregnant. I can't explain. Anyway, she was telling me about some lucky thing that had happened to her, and so I went to say "Wow. How did you get so lucky?" and instead I said, "Wow. How did you get so ugly? Honest to god. OMG, I'm turning red just thinking about it!
What would your super power be?
Flying. I always dream I'm flying. I really want to do that.
What do you most dislike about your appearance?
Gosh, that's hard.... I'm fucking gorgeous.
I guess just the effects of aging: thicker torso; certain wrinkles (not all); less muscle tone.
What would your fancy dress costume of choice be?
Gangster. Not "gangsta," but rather, the 30s-40s type.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Johnny Depp, without question.
What is your most unappealing habit?
Blah-blahing on about something. Which is totally unlike my posts--usually quite short.
What is your favourite book?
In fiction: Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann. I could never read it again, though. That's for sure. What a project!
What does love feel like?
Oh, it feels wonderful. And then it feels like pain and hunger. Net result: to be avoided.
What's the worst job you've ever done?
See blog. I have a whole post on this somewhere in there. Feel free to read the whole thing once you get in there. Come on, click, click, click.
What has been your biggest disappointment?
Going from owning a 14-room home to living in an apartment. Slowly.
When did you last cry and why?
Not too long ago because my mother just died.
What is the closest you've come to death?
Hospital-acquired staph infection of the spinal cord. Oh, yeah. I didn't realize at the time just how serious it was. When they told me I was out of the woods, I was like, "I was in the woods?!"
How would you like to be remembered?
I don't really care.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
That instead of saying, "Why me?", think "why not me?" Something bad happens to everybody.
That was really long.
