If it is Planet Fitness, be careful of them. If you sign a contract with them and move, you cannot cancel or transfer the membership unless you do it through the original club.

Now for walking, I love to power walk outside unless it is raining and then I hit the treadmill at the apartment gym.

Have fun today!

I went one time for the whole year I paid for, and it sounded like I was in the middle of grunting contest because of the body builders. You also couldn't concentrate because they would drop the weights so hard on the ground that it would scare the shit out of you. I love exercising outside and will continue to do it until I cannot do it anymore.

Have fun at the beach!

I'd have to say that my experience with Planet Fitness is nothing like you have experienced, so I'm sure it all depends on the region.

PF does not promise that there will never be any bodybuilders in their facilities; they promote and design their gyms for the average person. Anyone will business sense is not going to turn customers away, so if someone who body builds wants a membership, I'm sure they sign them up.

The locations I've gone to here in Texas frown on dropping the weights and loud grunting. There's this for that:

As for transferring, etc, it depends on the type of contract you have. If you sign up for the $10/month, then you are not under a contract and can cancel at any time. If you sign up for the $20/month, you are under a one year contract but you can go to any of the PF gyms you find.

Maybe those contracts are not available in FL, but they are here in TX.

I just hate to see the whole company bashed for one bad location since they helped me a great deal when I was actually going. I even got a free orientation and training session out of it.
