Every 4 years, I'm amazed all over again by the size of the speed skaters' thighs. My God. They're like cannons.

My favorite corny description by an Olympic announcer (describing the slalom ski course): "It'll turn on a dime and give you nine cents change."

Seems like they used to be even bigger. Remember Eric Heiden? It makes me wonder if they weren't all on steroids back then.

Tonight looks kind of dull. Plus creepy Matt Lauer is replacing poor Bob Costas, who is going to stay in bed all day with compresses on his eyes. Hoping Bob will be back.

Curling is a weird sport.

I can't help but to laugh at the sight of Olympic athletes frantically scrubbing the ice; brows furrowed in concentration, lol. Is this sport actually played anywhere outside the Olympics?

P.S. Apropos to nothing, I've always wanted to luge. It looks thrilling!

I'm watching the mens downhill freestyle competition (aka aerials), and they keep wiping out because the snow is so melted that it's slush. I can see the ground (or grass or green scrub) peeking out through the snow. In some places in the landing area, there is more green stuff than white stuff. Who thought having a winter olympics in a subtropical climate was a good idea?

Oh yeah. Putin.
