I just got the new Kindle. After years of lack-luster, mostly-for-work reading, I now find myself reading constantly! I can't put it down!

Now, I debated for quite awhile about the "authenticity" of books vs. an ereader. I LOVE bookstores and frequently sniffed at people who stared at screens all day. But...I wasn't reading for enjoyment until I got my Kindle.

So, this is the place to debate Kindle vs. books.
This is the place for tips/new reads/free reads.
This is the place to tell your Kindle horror stories.
This is the place to tell your Kindle love stories.

And anything else we come up with...

I just got a Kindle too. I love it. Considering the amount of books I read, I think that this ereader is a great asset. I find I read faster, but that may be because I can change the font size.

I seem to read faster too. I also like the bar at the bottom that gives you the percentage you've read!

I got my brother-in-law a cover for his without the light. I did a bit of research on the covers and found that most that got one with a light in it said it really wasn't worth the money because it created a glare more than anything on the screen and drained the battery life way fast.

Now there was a website that I ran across that had 1,000's of Kindle books on it where you could download it for free. Hmm, I should go searching my bookmarks to see if I can find it again.

Another Kindle fan here!

I've been oohing & ahhing over it for about 6 months, but just never thought about buying it for myself. Like many others, I loved the feel of a book in my hands. Luckily for me, my honey bought me the Kindle and I absolutely LOVE it!

Y'all are right, it's much easier to read, my wrist doesn't hurt from holding a bulky book in bed and the download versions are quite bit cheaper!

My first book I bought was "The girl with the dragon tattoo". It retails for about $15 and the Kindle version was only $5! SCORE! Then I found the FREE downloads, and got "Fireflys in Decemeber".

My honey won an iPad at her company Christmas party, and we've become addicted to the Scrabble game ~ yes, we have Scrabble matches everynight before bed.

One day I picked up my Kindle, and found that she had dowloaded the Scrabble game to my Kindle, too... so I could play if she was hoggin' the iPad. It's the same design, just not in color.

I just downloaded a bunch of free books on my Kindle.

There is a Facebook app called Bookgorilla (or the site is bookgorilla.com) and everyday they announce the free or very cheap books on Amazon. Some of them were very good deals!

Just a hint: If you friend the Amazon Kindle on Facebook, they will give you the tip-off when Amazon puts on the good .99 sales! I picked up about 8 different books a few weeks ago that had been ranging anywhere from $5- $12 normally!

I meant to ask: Has anyone read "The Hunger Games"? I keep seeing people talk about this book and one of my friends recommended it to me but am I understanding correctly that this is a young adult series?
