A long time ago, in a place far far away, I had a serious crush on LPGA golfer Patty Sheehan. I convinced my partner at the time to go with me to a tournament to watch her play (early 90's). She reluctantly agreed.

So, there we were, in the miserable summer heat and humidity...my g/f as bored and irritated as she can be. But, oh, how I am enjoying stalking Patty Sheehan. We were at the tee, waiting for Patty to go, when I said something like, "isn't this great?!?!?" to which my g/f replied, "this is worse than having root canal...can't you stalk someone who plays baseball?" At that moment, Patty's girlfriend Rebecca whips her head around and glared at us.

i have never forgiven Chris Evert Lloyd for making those homophobic remarks back in the day -- even though she has since apologized and been stand up. But back then i was a tennis freak. My screen name is Martina for a reason. So no forgiveness from me for Miss Chrissy.

Hmm... I need to google Chrissy then to find out what she said (I remember something back then, but not sure what exactly...). I was a tennis freak back then too and would feel so torn when they would play each other...identifying with Martina as a masculine female and identifying with her style of play as a player myself (serve/volley - uncommon for a female), vs. the long time Chrissy favorite....
