Thank you for making me smile with all the cute stories. I have 14 godchildren and when I am awake I am sure I will be back to tell some of the things they said.

LOL too cute! LOL Ollycopters reminded me of "Olly" for my son's first favorite teething toy dolly (a little brightly colored clown)... and he couldn't say cigarette..it was goo-gret ...and Grump-pa for his favorite Grandpa... bubbies for bubble bath... and Wennie Skins for his thermal Pjs. Grump-pa still craves his goo-grets and we all still use our warm Wennie Skins...and my puppy knows his command for "bubbies" and sulks over to our tub with his cute pout. |

This morning, I called my 'baby' ~ she's 22, but she will always be my baby ~ and woke her up.
She took us both back 20 years, when she answered the phone, "Hi, Mommy." It made my day...... ![]() |

I recently received a hand-made letter necklace from a child that said:
"You are the beast" Who knew?

Helped Him Cry
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."

My daughter is 6, and the other day on the morning news they were talking about adoption and all the kids in haiti. Well, first off, she has a lil sister who does not live with us so here is what she told me....it went along the lines of: Mommy, can I have a little sister who lives in the house because I saw on the news this morning they was giving away the kids for free.
AND ANOTHER... Monday mornings they have share day at school, so Sunday night we was getting stuff ready for school. She wanted to bring one of her barbie dolls and ken. So when she bought in ken with a barbie doll I asked her if she was putting that barbie in the bag with him. She then looked at me and said in a straight voice, No, these two got divorced I am bringing another Barbie....

My offspring's current facebook status has had me giggling ever since I caught sight of it last night:
"I had a dream that my school was connected to a sweet shop with pocky scattered everywhere and there was a brand of jelly called Why Wear Vagina Ears? The packet was covered with pigs on springs. The rest of the dream was a documentary on sea snakes then standing on a water boy trying not to fall into a sea full of snakes."She's 15, and like many kids, is often the funniest when she's not trying to be. |

She used to pretend that she was a superhero named Necklace Girl & she protected people from her enemy, Garbage Man by saving things & turning them into necklaces. Mother nature saw this & fell in love with her "sort of" & wanted to adopt her "so Necklace Girl would be her daughter".

I suppose this could just as easily be posted in the poetry thread, but it also seems appropriate here....
Out of the Mouths ~ Alden Nowlan If only we adults were as wise as Jennifer who said she hated me and was going to hate me for five minutes and when I told her the time was up said "okay, then I love you again" knowing that rage is not a lifetime commitment, but only a passage of darkness in the mind, a cold shiver of the soul.
