I can't edit my post above, but I just found out that Izzy did fine in the surgery, and will probably come home tomorrow
 . The leg was a mess; we did the right thing. Oh, and the vet saved the damn buckshot that someone shot him with. I know his name has sort of stuck, but frankly, he'll be "Tripod" from here on out.
