When I was a child our first apartment upon moving to America was over the top of a home brewing store. Suffice to say my parents took up making beer and root beer and I LOVED to play in the bins of grain and hops. Counting bottle caps was great fun. Somehow I did not aquire a knowledge of beer that is anything close to my palette for excellent wines and kona coffee.
Blue Moon is my go to beer for something to have in the fridge for guests, my brother and times when I want beer without having to think too hard.. My all time favortie beer is from Kona Brewing Company (convientiently located a mere 20 minutes from my home on the island...) and it's called Wailua Wheat.. It's lovely, light and you really can taste and smell the beautiful liliqoi in it. Drinking heavier beers under the Hawaiian sun just doesn't do it for me. There is a place in San Francisco I've been meaning to go to with my brother that has somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 beers. Rumors could be exagerated, but even if it's half that I'm so down.. Happy brewing and tasting!
