Clackers, Click Klacks, Knicker Bockers, Bonkers...
These were strings with glass balls on the end that you smacked together by manipulating the string as shown in the video. If done hard enough, fast enough, little shards of glass would chip off and go projectile missile sailing - flying through the air to, in a piercing hot penetrating fashion way, bore/embed themselves in you or someone else’s flesh. Subject to multiple recalls, the source of numerous lawsuits our parent’s allowed us to play with them until eventually Social Services alerted by our neighbors, threatened criminal charges if our parents did not hurry up and get with the voluntary recall program.
