Lug a lot of stuff,: hire a pool girl and be unapologetic...Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich knew what they were doing. You can lose 3 days of your precious holiday trying to find menstrual pain tablets in Beijing when you could have been jogging the 3000 km length of the Great Wall.

Any place that requires you to bring your own lock isn't worth staying in so forget those hostels "only a 6 hour bus ride from the beach".
