I miss carbohydrates.
A trip to a Trader Joes is much faster now. Other than some items, everything that looks good has 40+ carbs. Yes, I am exaggerating, but not by much.

Having a good woman by my side that makes my heart skip a beat every time I look at her.
Having a safe, soft place to land when I need it, instead of always being that place. Cooking with and for that special someone. Intellectually stimulating conversations. Time and place appropriate mindless banter. As much as I say I don't, I miss the dance and being part of a dynamic duo.

Hawt sex, waking up with someone I love in the bed with me, having someone who could run to the drugstore or store to fetch medications and soup for me (I currently have the cold that everybody at work has), cooking for the person I love, just having someone close to help with all of the day-to-day stuff that happens to all of us, someone to help soften the sharp edges of life.
That's what I miss. |

Been so long it’s hard to remember:
The familiarity, not having to explain every moment of silence, everything that u find funny. The look, touch, wink, gesture: given or received and knowing it’s meaning. The laughter over silly private moments shared only by the two. Buying or bringing home flowers and having someone to give them to. Having her be the first vision in the morning, the last at night and when u hear the words... love hot sexy intelligent .... her face appears in your mind. The romance, the long talks, the shared silence, the mutual respect and encouragement.
