Portlandia Sculpture (1985)

Portlandia sits on the eaves of the Portland Building, located at: 1120 SW 5th Avenue. The copper sculpture is second largest in the United States behind the Statue of Liberty in NYC.

White Stag

This landmark sits atop the very old White Stag building in what's known to locals as Old Town China Town district, at 70 NW Couch Street, which is close by to Burnside Bridge. It's the last icon of an sportswear industry, vital to the region as well as nationally, from 1957 - 1997. The sign was registered with the National Historical Society, back in 1977.

Located at 1717 NE Broadway Portland Oregon 97232, this bakery has been in the Bernhard family for at least two generations, since 1924. The bakery is situated in the Irvington neighborhood, which is close to the Hollywood district. Helen's son Dave, passed away a few years ago but I knew Dave and his wife personally. Specialties of this bakery are To Die For breads of all kinds, particularly breads made in German tradition. Cinnamon rolls, cakes, cookies, and Apple Strudel..... omg, so yummy. Check them out, when you visit Portland. You won't be sorry.

Pittock Mansion

Located in the swanky west hills of Portland Oregon sits atop the skyline of Portland a French Renaissance château. ...which offers personal guided tours and expansive grounds with birds eye views of the greater Portland city area and Mt Hood. Spend a day finding out the history of the family who once built it and lived in it and subsequent ownership by other interesting socialites. I think it's one of the most romantic city offerings we have in Portland.... not far from Pittock Mansion is the Rose Gardens. It's also just as romantic and beautiful. Both historical landmarks are favorite locations for weddings and especially for Winter Holiday festivities.
