Happy - none of us on my horticulture course were expecting to start doing anything practical until next week, but just 3 days into our 3 years of study, and we were out there doing stuff! I learnt how to prune apple trees properly, the two best ways to grow apple trees for high yields of fruit, and a way to take cuttings with some plants (we used Leylandi to practice on). And we saw the two hydroponics setups - the outdoors one in a greenhouse was awesome, I've never seen so many strawberries growing in such a small area!

Still shaking from my one an only car accident I've ever experienced on this past Sunday afternoon. It was a miracle that me, my little dog Leo (secure in his crate in the backseat) and no one else got hurt. First rainy day after 50 days of no rain in Seattle made the roads extremely slick with oil. I took a curb at a speed that would've been fine in dry conditions and spun out on the oily highway. Spun out both directions hitting the concrete median twice and managed to get the car off to a side road. ANGELS...Loved ones in Spirit, Guides...all there. Not a scratch on me but the car's front end needs major repairs. So grateful...so thankful...so in shock at how I and others were so completely protected!!! PTSD driving now though...ugh!

Stressed! I took Mom to her oncologist appointment yesterday and everything was fine. Today they called and said her cancer indicator numbers were high. They want her to retest in a month. Why must we wait a month? I can only attempt to look at it positively and think that if it were bad they'd retest her immediately. She's worried. She came out and asked me if I think that the pain in her stomach that she's had since her hernia surgery is cancer.
Then to top it off my uncle's cancer may be back and my niece and nephew's grandfather on their other side died of cancer this morning and they only found out about it yesterday. Cancer sucks! What a day.

Pretty good. Finally walking without the cane and it didn't cramp my style as much as I thought it would. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. I guess he'll recommend surgery (knee replacement?) ... the problem will be when. Grateful to have good health care.
