Even favorable circumstances can't force one to do something one doesn't want to. Used to emphasize that you can make it easy for someone to do something, but you cannot force them to do it.

"Fist to cuffs"..................

To come to blows with someone! A fist fight.

Sidebar: The word "fisticuffs" dates back to the early 17th century, combining "fistic" (related to fighting with the fists) and "cuff" which (still) means a punch. Fisty cuffs became fisticuffs.

To be nonsensical. To be very energetic. Sometimes used to relay a person is fibbing. This is similar to "Full of Hot Air" kinda sorta!

If an argument erupts and it's one that has been previously settled, then the idiom "beating a dead horse" might be said by someone who sees any further discussion on the topic to be meaningless.
