Saturday Morning Fabulousness!

Not sure what all will encompass my Saturday Morning Fabulousness, only time will tell!

This is Fringe Festival weekend at my teen's school. She attends a charter school focused on the arts. Last night was a lantern parade around the lake in town and ended up at the school with music and dancing. In a bit we are leaving for the festival. They will have the fine art displays, all types of dancing on an outdoor stage (ballet through hip-hop), band concert, orchestra concert, thespians in one-act plays, creative writers reading poetry and prose and all manner of other lovely art. The weather is gorgeous and it will be a long, but fun day.

However I started my fabulous Saturday as I always do, getting up at the wee dawn hours to sit on my porch, meditate on the abundance of blessings in my life and celebrate Prime.

Saturdays have always been my most favorite day of the week. I think it started when I was young and Saturdays were always the days I could hang out with my Dad. I remember riding all over town on errands in with Dad in his old 1966 Ford Falcon. It was powder blue, with dark blue vinyl seats and interior. I was so small, I could stand up behind the front seat and strain to lean over Dad's shoulder. The transmission shifting was "on the column" and I remember gleefully shouting at my Dad, "Dee (we couldn't say "Daddy", so we called Pop "Dee Dee"), go faster!!!", as Dad would go soaring over the raised cross streets in the historic districts of Savannah, Ga. It was like a roller coaster ride in that little blue car that had tail lights like rocket engines!!! Good, loving times with Pop that would forever seal the bonds of affection and devotion between a doting, loving father and his children. At that time (1970), the Sandpipers popularized the song "Come Saturday Morning", and this song will forever take me back to those Saturdays with Pop.

This morning was cool! I went to a function at my local Marshall's and walked away with a gift card. I found a table that I liked and could use for additional storage but I couldn't get it into my little car so I talked to my coworker about it and she offered up her hatchback. Score!

I got to use my gift card and got a nice table that was already on clearance so it's about 40-45% off of the original price. Nice.

The rest of the morning has been spent lazily eating brunch, watching TV and loving on the furbabies.
