The Hundred-Year House by Rebecca Makkai
The novel begins in 1999 and moves backwards through the history of Laurelfield, a large stately home belonging to the Devohrs. The house has morphed over the years from family residence to a beloved art colony and back again. The first and longest section of the novel deals with Laurelfield's most contemporary permutation. I am about half way in and I'm enjoying this book immensely............
