Can you prevent a thread from showing up in your 'Recent Threads' section?

You can change the setting under USER CP … to some degree. Sorry, I don't recall the specific options but I believe there's one that basically tells the forum to... SUBSCRIBE ME TO ANY THREAD I COMMENT ON. And then there's another option to send you an email anytime there's a comment to that thread. Take a gander in that area of your USER CONTROL PANEL.

i am not very technical so maybe there is a way i am accidentally doing this?
