A friend of mine had a GREAT idea. He is going through his old photographs - actual photographs from long ago, not digital photographs - and finding pictures of times that he shared with friends. Then he takes a digital pic of the photograph with his phone, and emails or texts it to that person - saying "remember this?"

He sent me a picture of a sand sculpture we both made at the beach about 30 years ago. It has kept me smiling all day.

I just went to check our public library's website and noticed that due to the Covid-19 closures they are providing incentives for library card holders to access eBooks, movies, and music online by increasing credits and providing unlimited streaming.

I thought I would share this info. with you so that you can check your library's website to see if the same or similar offers are available to you as well.

The Camino de Santiago, or Way of Saint James, is a Catholic pilgrimage to Spain’s Santiago de Compostela. An increasingly popular route for hikers and cyclists, you can recreate the experience at home – though it may take a tad longer than the 30 to 35 days it would require to complete the course IRL. Log onto walking4fun.com, then choose one of three routes: the famous Camino Francés, which starts in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France, and two Portuguese trails: the coastal, which starts in Porto, or the central, which starts in Lisbon. Log in to track your steps as you walk around your own neighbourhood, then apply them to the route you choose. And while you won’t get to see actual views of your chosen trail, the site does have photos from the journey to help you pretend that you’re there.
