living on steamed milk
lithe cats, masters of movement
devoted to pain

it begins so young
expressing pain beautifully
such fierce eloquence

when you watch her dance
you will never see her flinch
pain and art collide

Ballet, the dance of
eloquent masochism
art on bleeding toes
