(note: my POV) And while we have much to live for, it's the things that we cannot live without that sometimes overwhelms a person to attempt or commit suicide. I say this as someone who has been there in the past. It's really easy to become swallowed up by grief, fears, uncertainties, etc. The challenge is finding a way to survive all that, focus on what we have, come to terms what we don't or find a way to address it (e.g., the "don't have" could be the result of death, change in relationship, lack of funds for surgery and lack of job, etc.). But for now, we should remember the person and keep thoughts for the family. It's hard to comprehend the kind of pain that the family goes through afterward. The question of "did I just miss the obvious??" comes to mind and it's not an easy thing, IMO, to address or come to grips with.
