My joy today came from two sources:
1) My cousin Barb came to visit us last night with her 1 1/2 year old son Matty. Its been awhile since we've seen her and it was great to have her over, and that little boy's smile as well as his laughter lit up this whole house ~ exactly what we needed after such a stressful week  2) Creating a birthday thread for a sweet girl, the same one who is capturing My heart in a way that I never imagined possible ~ maybe its the cheesy grin that gives Me away

Yet Another Animal Friendly Law Passed in Mass!!
I just received this thank you email and it brought me a lot of joy!
Thank you for helping to protect animals and people from poisoning Thanks to your calls and emails, H. 4285 passed the Massachusetts Senate on July 13th and was signed into law by the Governor on July 19th. This new law will prevent accidental and malicious poisonings of animals and people by requiring that a bittering agent be added to antifreeze to make it less palatable. This important legislation will take effect in Massachusetts on January 1, 2011. We often ask our elected officials to support or oppose legislation that affects animals, but should also remember to say thank you when they enact animal-friendly laws. |

My joy today came in threes (though I'm sure there will be more):
1) Getting the nose pads on My glasses fixed, knowing that they will finally fit better and wont keep sliding down My nose 2) Finding out that I am indeed eligible to get new glasses, after having these for five years  3) Starting a birthday thread for My girl, being able to celebrate with her (even if it is only online) and knowing that I have someone so wonderful in My life

A stray kitty showed up at my house 2 years ago. After months of leaving her food and coaxing her, she finally let me get close enough to pet her. She usually lays at my feet or under my chair and will allow me to scratch behind her ears. This evening, out of the blue, she jumped in my lap. First time ever. She stood there for a minute while I scratched her ears then jumped down. She circled my chair for a few minutes then jumped back in my lap...then plopped down and nuzzled into me, as if she had been doing it for years. Yay! I'm so loving this kitty...
