Poll: Do you have a tattoo?

I do: just one - she's a mermaid - she lives on my right shoulder, under my bra strap and she replaces the 40s pin-up girl that used to be there.

I've got it picked out and where I want it, but so far everyone has talked me out of it......

I'm actually going to have some work done on my tattoo; hopefully before my birthday next year. I'm going to have something entirely different. It's going to be a heart with barbed wire around it, and maybe a special shade of ruby red for the heart and the blackest ink one can get for the barbed wire.

I've a hard time deciding on what will be the first piece and/or deciding on an artist. There's like infinate number of possibilities for both.

One on each upper arm, both are women with Maori inspired designs. Each have significant life meaning, as they should be.

Thinking seriously about the 'scarring' designs. Anybody here have any?

I finally scraped enough money together by October of 2022, and got hearts and stars inked into my neck and hairline. My tribute to Carl Sagan (we are made of star stuff).

I’ve changed my mind tho about the heart with barbed wire around it. Instead my next tattoo will be a tribute to Jane Goodall…. I’m going to do a picture of a gorilla headshot, surrounded by beautiful flowers, pointillism style of tattoo.

One very small. On my left ring finger across. TCB with a lightening bolt.

Okay, so as of now, I have 4 tats.

1. My left upper arm is a tribute to my Marine Corps history. It consists of a group of flowers, with foliage, and an Eagle, Globe & Anchor (Marine Corps emblem). Two dog tags hang from the arrangement and one tag says "USMC" and the other, "Semper Fidelis". There's also 4 aces on the border, around the edges of the entire thing. That's for my love of poker.

2. The second design is on my left upper chest and is a simple heart with a lightning bolt through it.

3. I have a rosebud on my right groin area (above the hair level).

4. My latest piece of ink is on the inside of my left forearm and is a silhouette of a tall ship, set against a huge moon in the backdrop. In the foreground, at the bow of the ship, which is reflected in the water, is a nautical compass. Over the top, in an arch above the image, is the scripted text that says, "Not all who wander are lost" (my favorite Tolkein text). The meaning of the whole thing is that we are each on our life's voyage. We each chart our own individual course through life and are responsible for our own choices in life. We all, after all, live by our own choices.

** My next piece is going to be the realistic image (profile) of a beautiful siren, her lips formed in a seductive kiss, blowing a the wind into the sails of the ship.

Sounds Fantastic!...and i didn't know you loved Tolkien!! May i ask your favorite character?? Mine, Glorfindel(in the book, but not the movies)(i don't think?) it's been a while since i watched the movies and i haven't read the books in a long while...i love the series but my favorite book of his is the Silmarillion
