I light a candle for everyone who comes here. With expressed or unexpressed hopes, grief, and gratitude.

In the wafting smoke and flickering flame, I utter thanks. My sister has nearly completed her first week of radiation therapy. The first day, she was very nauseated, but no more. Her seizures are controlled on meds. She is tired a lot, sleeping a lot, but this is to be expected. As for me, I am more centered and feel like I'm not going to freak out.

I hold in my palm a bit of wax left over from last week. I shall keep this bit as a reminder of all your thoughts, prayers, PMs of encouragement, and hope. You have sustained me through this turn, and I want to acknowledge this. I am filled with gratitude and humility by your outpouring of care and love. Yeah, I love you, too
