We call them ear-worms, and it's not just songs. Sometimes it's a word or phrase. A friend once had the name 'Alexander Solznhitzyn' (sp?) for months.

It depends on the song. Those that I love are happily mutilated by me singing bits and pieces of them and those that I hate are passed on. Passing it forward, one might say.

Why not share and see if it sticks with another <eg> Some years back, I shared the Band Aid theme song with my co workers on their telephones, lol At least I wasn't alone with it in my head all day or humming it And, thanks to FB and Mafia Wars, If I Had A Hammer plays in my head for days Some days I try to share it with my FB friends that play Mafia Wars I'm a firm believer that sharing means caring so I do
