I see you've figured out the 'thanks' button. For the reps, look at the bottom left under a person's screen name. There's a green dot, a scale, and a sign with an exclamation point. The exclamation point is for reporting posts that violate the TOS. The green dot lets you know that person is online now. The scale is the rep feature. Click on it and leave your note and, if you'd like, thank the post as well. However, you cannot thank and then rep. The system allows for you to rep, then thank.
